I'm coming in late but, where do folks get grasshoppers out of season? Haven't seen any since September. We get some pretty low temps here.
Live or preserved? Online fishing tackle shops, like Bass Pro or Sportsman's Guide, may carry the preserved ones year 'round; depends on whether their suppliers have them.

Brrrrr....I came home from hunting last night.
Not feeling well at all.
Fell asleep in my chair...... just now waking up.
Guess I needed the sleep..... but I was freezing the whole time. Got so chilled I couldn't warm up.
Better now.
I did run into another hunter...... first time in like forever. And I wasn't wearing hunters orange. Oh well.
Probably be many years again before I run into another hunter. I digress.....I did t have an orange hat on.
Hot pink is legal in MD starting this year.

Have one praying Mantis -come to the same place on the bricks near kitchen window.
Always when we are getting freezing temps. I know they don't live that long, so has to be another Mantis. Maybe it's genetic imprint.

This one continued to change position for about 3 weeks (lasting longer than any before).Last time I saw it, was missing a couple legs. The next day no sign of it whatsoever. Will something eat a dead Mantis, or did it go to Mantis heaven?
Assassin Bugs might; they'll eat dead stink bugs
