Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Our jeep is gone.....

It was in the parking lot last night....

Not there now......

So odd.....

Disappearing paint :idunnoI guess it isn't instantaneous, after all

A stranger just pulled up sideways in front of my gate & wouldn't leave. I went out there & it was a chick drinking designer coffee & messing with her phone. She was 2ft away from me & I was yelling HELLO? HEY? HELLLLLOOOOO! She finally rolled down her window & she said, "Hi. Did you need to get out?"
Me; Um, no. Did you need something?
Her: No. My friend lives 2 houses up. I'm early & I didn't want to be rude.
Me; You didn't want to be rude.... to HER?
Her; Yeah. Is that ok?
Me: Sure. Can you pull up a little so my husband can pull in?
Her; Oh. Ok.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: :smack

DD1 says I've reached a new level of 'old' complaining about millennials in my driveway. I live on a private road. I'm allowed to complain about strangers in my driveway.
We get all kinds from beer drinkers to bike riders .Came one day to a truck load of Hispanics follow my goats around :barnie. Part of not so much country anymore .

I brought home more chicks from work that were weak from shipping. Managed to save them. They are "Prairie Bluebells" aka Easter Eggers, supposedly a hybrid of araucanas. They're sexed pullets, so these ones I think I will keep. I always like blue eggs.
I was just wondering how many puppies and cats followed you home from school . :gig

Lol, one, and that was actually home from the neighbor's horse barn. She did it repeatedly, every time I visited, until my parents gave in. Now 19 years later, she's sitting next to me on the couch as I type this :)

My other cat didn't follow me home. She DID sneak into my workshop as a kitten and get herself locked in there, though.

Long weeks of unlimited supply of doings .:thFriday and Saturday last replaced the radiator in DW's mini van . Worked on it till way after dark Saturday .Stayed up all night filling waters and feeders for the chickens . Rolls of hay for the goats and horse. Filled all the water troughs . Over filled the dogs bowls and put in larger water buckets .Woke DW up at 4:30 AM on the road at 6:30 . DW drove the whole four hundred miles almost non stop . I tried to use the phone to catch up . Not only can I ot sleep in a car I can't use a phone .What A nightmare  . Went to my cousin's house stayed till about dusk . I/we decided to drive a little past our Family cemetery and stay in a little town called Fordyce Arkansas . All we could find was a Best Western . Good price not to shabby. And ground floor . Back the mini van right up to the door. First off Ben only eats at a very few places . McD's being the top of the list.:sick The only place he would go the bathroom was at McDonald's . In one day I became so sick of McDonalds:barnie They had one, but just about every town has at least one . The walmart there was the smallest I've ever seen . I left DW and Ben Motel and thinking I would or could get cold cuts and fixins . Instead I found myself lost in the twilight zone . The Mad Butcher was closed ,and Wal-Mart had no real food .McD's for Ben :sick DW and me had little Debby snack cakes and soda pop . Then tried to sleep, with Ben not being the least bit tired :barnieAround 1 am he finally went to sleep. Up at 8:30 all the good breakfast was gone. Left the cemetery at around 2 got home at 10.Decided to travel all two lane roads home . I just get tired of the interstate .And I kept getting text messages from people wanting to look at the puppies :barnie. They don't message you when your not doing anything . Just as you get both hands full . They send you a text. :rantWe sold five out of ten . And another litter on the way :thI'm not crazy really I'm not . :lau:lau Sound like fun ?I just wish I wasn't so bored all the time .;):frow

I could not work where baby-any-type-of-animal made an appearance... they'd all end up in my back yard. (Except maybe ground squirrels. ..I think I have enough of them! :) )

Spent yesterday with the fifth graders at Burney Falls and Lake Britton - they are a high energy group, but it

Hi Ponders :frow
Been busy between the rains and the cold (should frost tonight). My previous (first) census supervisor returned. It took several contacts to finally convince him I was not changing my mind and he finally came and picked up the DOC equipment. He gave one last pitch and I almost caved in but I caught the DH's eye and got "the look" and passed. :hmm he had had enough of worrying about me working in the middle of nowhere with no GPS or cell service and driving up to places that had most likely been built in that middle of nowhere for a reason, and possibly not a good one? He knows me too well and I may be a "well seasoned" old gal but I have a habit of forgetting my age at the worst times and can still have more backbone than brains sometimes. I finally had to admit he was most likely correct. It might be time for me to hang up my spurs and stick to the homestead where I only have to deal with our critters, and...... bears, bobcat, coyote, cougar, wolves etc. and the occasional loony neighbor or trespassing hunter.
and husband. Don't forget him. They can be really difficult I'm told.

Which part of "NO" did the ex-super not understand?
I understood. They are really hurting for workers up here and even more so for experienced ones that understand the importance of the census and getting the info right. The information gathered in the first phase has a huge bearing on the accuracy of actual census next spring.
