Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Well, my neighbor has been asking forever when we might get some goats. He said he would help with them, and use one of his dog kennels to house them. So I started looking, then his wife nixed the plans.
Finally he got the go ahead, so I started looking again. Found a ND farm not far from me, and she has 2 3-week old boys left!

I was hoping to go get them tomorrow, but I have been nursing a migraine for 3 days now. But here they are, if we actually get them. :love

lovely! :love

Wow!! Just wow! Great job.

How are the buttons doing?
They are soooo cute!

Nope, it is actually well insulated. The roof is metal and steep enough that as soon as a heavy enough coat of snow is sitting on it, it all falls off.

My barn and shop do the same. (And they are the same temp inside and out)

My house though, the roof isn't quite so steep, so it tends to wait until the snow is pretty deep on the roof, but then it too dumps ot off.

I like metal roofs, I dont have to shovel them.

Cool about the goats. I thought slicing out the testicles was way better than banding them. But... :idunno whatever.

Great photo set. Pretty birds, and thenaby quail were cool too.

When I had them I was always so worried that I would squish them. They are just SO FAST!!!
They are just to small for my taste.BILs mother made good quial pies.Anyhow Bucklings cut or clamped leave the scrotem sack and get called billies at the sale barns. I clamped mine with Burdzzo clamps and still banded them so the scrotem fell off.Really depends on what you prefer, when you market ,how you market ,and what the market likes.I know the brush goats from my childhood were much tougher that the modern meat breds.I was warned and didn't listen. They really require 24/7 attention.

I was about to ask you how you have been.... you haven't been posting as much.

:hugs
Awww, thank you for thinking of me Al :love Just having some vision issues and was difficult to see for a bit. Improving. Find out on the 28th if I will be able to miss the more "radical" stuff but not worried.
For now just sitting here watching it snow, sigh.
