Snow inside your eyeball?Awww, thank you for thinking of me AlJust having some vision issues and was difficult to see for a bit. Improving. Find out on the 28th if I will be able to miss the more "radical" stuff but not worried.
For now just sitting here watching it snow, sigh.
The earlier you disbud the better. So I would try for this week, like now.The smaller one is naturally polled and has been bottle fed since birth. The bigger one has been with him mom until a couple days ago. He was not dis-budded. I’m not sure how late that can be done, they are both 3 weeks old. I was thinking no horns would be easier, but since these are so little, Lisa (@Fields Mountain Farm) said it should be ok.
No idea!
Oh really. You all are going to have to help me, as this is my first adventure with goats. Feel free to share any info, I may or may not know about!
Not yet, only working about 30 hours a week, at most.
Hubby may not be able to use the home office for a bit.

But it is a nasty job, find someone who knows how, and has the equipment, and make them do it for you.
I just found slicing out the testicles easier since it healed up way faster, IMHO than the one we got that was banded. And I probably shouldn't say "I" did anything.
I explained to my children how it was done, showed them 2 different you tube videos and kicked them out the door. They did it.
But no children were wounded, the goat kids got castrated, no infections, healed up great.
I think that is why most people go with banding. But the banding takes SO LONG to heal up. And I found it nasty having to always be checking on this dying bit of flesh that then has to fall off...Well maybe I need to ask the boys which way they found to be easier!
i will check out videos on both ways. I’ve watched some on banding. I’m not sure I could do the slicing.![]()

We cut them early enough that the scrotal sack pulled up nicely, so they didn't have an empty hanging pouch... like @BYC910 was saying. I think it depends on how old they are... not sure where it changes.
I *think* we were doing it at about 3 months. @BYC910 at what age have you seen them get cut and the sack just stay dangling? I am pretty sure if they are over a year it stays there....
No not in the eyeballs!!! I can see well enough now to sit at the table and watch it snow (as long as I'm wearing sunglasses. A lot better than before but still pretty light sensitive). We're getting about 6" and thankfully it's cold enough (mid teens F) to be the light fluffy stuff. Actually looking forward to getting outside and moving a little snow tomorrow.Snow inside your eyeball?
Or snow outside the house?
We had a bit of hail.getting a bit too warm....I hate ice!!! Give me a nice constant 22F!!!!
well ain't a sleep yetPretty sure that will not help you sleep.![]()

Seems to me you are watching more than snow
Ahhh....you said you don't get out much; I thought maybe you'd pulled the plug on working for someone else. The smaller one is naturally polled and has been bottle fed since birth.
