Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Not neutered yet, they are only 3 weeks old. Lisa will help me when the time comes, I’ll do it myself.
Would love to see the buttons if you have pics. And if you start a thread, link it here. I’d hate to miss it, but I don’t get out a whole lot anymore. :p

Oh my gosh, near twins! :highfive:

DG has the clover vally brand and some of them I swear are the same as GS cookies. I try very hard to stay out of the cookie isle. I'm a cookieaholic. :lau And weak very weak .
DW had to hide the cookies when the kids were little if they were going to get any
Still have Cookie Monster, from Sesame Street, on my dresser. Never met a cookie I didn't like. I'm fine w/o them if they're not in the house; otherwise, I can't leave them alone.

You & DH both. Its funny that the kids are allowed to know where the good stuff is hidden, but DH isn't. They can be trusted. Him, not so much.

I love that guy. I named my dog after his fictional dog. I should build my model corsair that's been sitting here for over a year in honor of his Pappy Boyington character.

Are you going to dis-bud them as well. There are pluses and minuses for that.

I personally prefer them to be Dis-budded less chance of getting caught in wire.

My four little reprobates would have been more destructive with horns. I had three nigerians and one Pygmy....

Pygmy was like a miniature bull dozer... Every one wants out... "I fix { all of the gates were destroyed and the bases of the chinlink dog kennel panels... Soon as he showed him how to get out they would meet you at the car... :gig

I loved my goaties... but if I have them again it will be cattle panel containment... plus hot wire to keep them back and hot wire to keep the predators back.

deb

The smaller one is naturally polled and has been bottle fed since birth. The bigger one has been with him mom until a couple days ago. He was not dis-budded. I’m not sure how late that can be done, they are both 3 weeks old. I was thinking no horns would be easier, but since these are so little, Lisa (@Fields Mountain Farm) said it should be ok.

Cool about the goats. I thought slicing out the testicles was way better than banding them. But... :idunno whatever.

No idea!

They are just to small for my taste.BILs mother made good quial pies.Anyhow Bucklings cut or clamped leave the scrotem sack and get called billies at the sale barns. I clamped mine with Burdzzo clamps and still banded them so the scrotem fell off.Really depends on what you prefer, when you market ,how you market ,and what the market likes.I know the brush goats from my childhood were much tougher that the modern meat breds.I was warned and didn't listen. They really require 24/7 attention.

Oh really. You all are going to have to help me, as this is my first adventure with goats. Feel free to share any info, I may or may not know about!

You quit your job?

Not yet, only working about 30 hours a week, at most.

Hubby may not be able to use the home office for a bit.
