Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Morning Ponders :frow
I'm still gaining weight! :barnie Was warned it might happen after my surgery because of the whole hormone thing but come on!!! It of course has nothing to do with sitting on my bottom watching the snow melt and eating everything I am not supposed to. Finally was able to see yesterday that the snow is off most of our trails at least so I can get to some of the damaged trees that need work AND it looks like the weather has finally decided to behave like it's actually what passes up here for spring so I can get out get moving. But first, more coffee!!!

Good morning Pond People.

Ours has it and there is rationing (like you all are mentioning) all over the store. There's also a lengthy line to get in. It felt like I'd imagined war time would be.
I also was paying so much attention to all the "Limit 1" signs, the varying degrees of PPE people chose to wear, and the way people wouldn't even smile at one another, that I didn't get half of what I needed.

No smiles ? They won't even make eye contact. Common sense = good. Panic = bad.

So... I did another walk today... so I am staying on track of my every other day goal..

Once I can do the uphill section without pausing every 20 steps... I will start doing one loop per day..

But since the uphills are so hard for me, I am thinking that that goal is a month out.

When I went a couple days ago. There werent too many people in the store. About 70% would not make eye contact with me. 30% would. About 50% of the customers were wearing masks. Only 2 employees were.

The floor was taped off 6’ from the conveyor belt with signs everywhere saying do not cross this line until customer has completed their transaction. I was loading my stuff into the belt & woman came barreling up, past the tape on me. I didn’t say anything, but I looked at her, looked at the tape, looked back at her, then finished unloading. She backed immediately up. DH said I must’ve given her my infamous ‘I’ve killed a man’ look. (*Full disclosure; I have not actually killed a man, nor did I know I had such a look, but DH says he’s seen it lots of times & that it’s scary.) :lau

I got to say.... I am happy that today is my day off.

@orrpeople gorgeous bright spring green out that window!

We had "spring showers" so a couple more inches of snow.
Hey Al refresh my memory. What kind of flooring did you get? and How do you like them now that you have been able to subject them to some abuse.

I just came home from lowes and am drooling over samples and I hope its the same stuff.

Well I don't feel as bad .Drove in for my prescription. And McDs for Ben. Took a pill came home passed out.
Hey, we had an outing. First to the bank - drive up is open, inside is closed down. Then to the Amish market carefully gloved and masked (felt a bit foolish, but you do what you gotta). Stocked up on baked stuff, vegetables, and OJ for the Princess. It's a lot more expensive when she comes along. :lau Now I'm off to the beagle club. I'm so lucky to have that so very close.
Better feeling silly than .That the only if I had worn a mask feeling.
The milk situation is truly sad here. Pictures of farmers dumping hundreds of thousands of gallons of milk into their drains, told to by their co-op owners because they've got no place to go with it. The dairies can't bottle it because they've no where to take it. All their big customers like schools, hotels, arenas, etc. are shut down and everyone so over bought (aka hoarding) their milk in last couple weeks they just don't need any so the farmers are being told to dump all their milk for a week. These are the farms like the one showing the pics, that milk as many as 2500 cows a day. This week they'll still get paid but it could get ugly if this doesn't settle down soon.
You just don't realize how far reaching the economical impact of this is until you see a story like this.
Take a secound look, milk that has to much bacteria is deverted to the cheese factory .Some even turned into chocolate milk and sent out with a new date. While they will dump milk that is paid for maybe. It can be condensed and canned. Also give this some thought .China and South Korea had the public ware mask .Did not shut down the affected cities and still it took four months to come to a virus stand still .Simply meaning days without new cases. That is why they are saying June for the peak .Both countries required the citizens to ware mask .Company's small businesses and regular people sewing mask on personal sewing machines . All for free for our front line workers . That is what makes America GREAT ,and what makes me proud to be an American .Got this far and pain shut me down last night .

Top of the afternoon Pond folk.Internet via hotspot is worthless ,mid afternoon .Lost all my quotes. Feel like a horse kicked me today.Made it to DG for milk .Saw one of my sisters there .We were the only ones wearing a mask.Called another ,she is the one who is in charge of the sunrise breakfasts. That isn't going to happen this year.Younger sister has had to stay at work .County said her school had to cook meals for the free lunch students .Need eggs got about eighty dozen I need to move. Tried to donate them ,nobody will take them .not the food pantries or the shelters either. If I went and got store bought they would .Started calling family members to give them away . :th Going to put some adds on CL later. Feeding more and more to my dogs. They are happy to eat them .Guess I'll go walk and feed and gather eggs and feed and water .Bound to be at least one goat stuck in the fence.I'm so bored :barnie:th
