We had a THUNDERSTORM up here!!!!

We actually had some lightning too!

We get a bunch of drizzle up here, LOTS of drizzly rain. But rain storms, thunder, and lightning are super crazy rare.

We saw one on our visit there 5 years ago. Came a day or so after the earthquake we experienced there. It was beautiful.

Pretty much! About as much awe as we were in over the earthquake.

Those same people had been here several years before, and we had a good old fashioned thunderstorm - pouring rain, loud thunder and lots of lightning. Their then 10-year old son was glued to the window! They were here in June, so they also got to see fireflies.

Ha! Yep, we don't have those either!!!

Even my 18 year old was all "thunder! Did you hear it? And look at those dark clouds! A STORM!"

We don't get out much.
