I made the decision that I will still be making the full Thanksgiving spread (tho a smaller version) for DH.
I am also a stuffing purist. No sausage or other exotics in mine. I've been told by a few that claimed not to like stuffing, that mine was the only one they'd go in for seconds for. Daughters and wives have asked me for the recipe, but, what recipe?
The virus is just too rampant here and too many people are dying. Entire state is back into lockdown and practically nothing is open. Store shelves are thin and we've been trying to find extra. ammunition for more than a month. It's not so much hoarding (except maybe the ammo) you can't stock store shelves if a large portion of the truckers are either sick or their companies have been forced to shutdown.chicki-- NY city wannabe hunters have invaded here as usual---stocking up on beer and chips at grocery stores yesterday, calling for last minute firewood for their camps
morning SirQuiet on the Pond. Nary a ripple or skiff of ice.
Our son, living in Racine Co., has been off work all week, self-quarantining to be sure he doesn't carry the virus in here when he gets here Thanksgiving evening for our two week gun season.I made the decision that I will still be making the full Thanksgiving spread (tho a smaller version) for DH. It will only be the two us so for the first time in many years I will be making it on Thanksgiving Day. Normally I would do the whole spread today, celebrating early with the house full of deer hunters. Since they all now have families of their own (even the grandkids) they would normally head home either the night before or the morning of, Thanksgiving, often returning the following day to finish the hunting season with dad/grandpa. Or, so they would say but all us women knew it was really the way they could avoid the Black Friday chaos
Since we actually live in cranberry country and which holds the title for being the largest producer of the berry in the world, the canned stuff is for the amateur and the guys in deer camps.
