Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

My pantry is set up somewhat like Penny’s. It’s a 4x5’ closet with shelves. I will take before and after pics if anyone is interested.
I will love mine even more.. We have a on demand hot water tank set up for propane. BF only has 40 other projects on his plate. The house has a antique electric in the pantry until then.

Hello Pond family!
Can anyone tell I had a lot of catching up to read?? :D
Seems like all is basically well, at least as far as the Pond wellness goes. :p

@OneMountainAcres i didn’t see an update on the kids ankle?
@Pyxis we need pics of Pixel in her onesie! And the new straight-run pullets lol!
@dan26552 great looking birds you are breeding. I still feel like your proud Auntie. :D Too bad your “aunt” couldn’t have seen Lee Greenwood with you! I love him!!
@pennyJo1960 love the cat tree! Are they using it? Are you going to cover it with carpet or anything?
@sourland glad you are feeling better. Are you back to Sour-normal now?
@room onthebroom Dolly still cracks me up. How often does she get a new wardrobe?
@Alaskan glad the boy made it home safely. And just drink the damn spouse’s coffee and learn to like it! Lol
And that moose!

@ChickenMama6RIR that’s a ton of chicks! How are they doing now?
@Toothpick Welcome to the Pond. Sorry it wasn’t the kind of pond you were expecting, but it is a very welcoming pond. Yours looks super! Are you stocking it with fish or what?

Ok, that’s all I can remember, I’m sure I’m missing something, my apologies.

Gawd, it’s been so hot and humid here, heavy 5-minute downpours every few hours have been crazy! Today is a bit more bearable. Wanted to go fishing, took the day off to spend with hubby. It’s our 17th anniversary today!! Good grief, that seems like a long time.
They're doing great! Knock on wood, I haven't lost one yet. I had around 73 or 74 hatch. I've sold most of them!

How did we meet ? I was bartending.
I too was bartending. Unbeknownst to me, DH was in the military & deployed out here doing secret stuff. Two polar opposites, but we clicked immediately. He spent 5 nights in my bar asking me out. I had a firm ‘no dating the customers’ policy, but I knew he was different. By the time I agreed to go out with him (the 5th day) I found out a little too late that he was military, lived out of state & was heading back to Washington the next morning.

:th

We went to Denny’s about 3am after I closed up the bar & somehow I locked my keys in the car. I was mortified. I’d never done that before & have never done it since, but fate kept us at the restaurant together for hours until I could get someone out to pop the lock.

He had a commanding officer who adored him & over the next few months kept sending him out here for ridiculous errands (deliver this pencil, this piece of paper, this paper clip..) Despite my feral nature & my anti marriage views, we were married 6mos later.

That was 27.5 yrs ago.

… We’re still polar opposites by the way.
Us too. Son once said to me: "Dad, I know it works. You and Mom - I grew up with it, but you are so different. Why does it work?" I replied, "She makes me laugh." He thought that was a good answer. She has the quickest/smartest mouth of anyone I have ever met. Never at a loss for words.

On our way to get shelves! (He knows I won’t be able to function until they’re at least on the premises.) I don’t know when they’ll get done, but my hope is before school starts in 3 weeks.

How did we meet? I’ve known him all my life. He grew up on the farm 2 miles from my great-aunt and uncles’s farm and I used to spend a couple of weeks every summer during elementary school and jr. high with them. I knew when I was 5 that I wanted to marry a farmer. I just didn’t know which one until I developed my first crush on him when I was 12. When I was 15, my great-auntie got cancer, so I spent most of the summer there helping her out. DH felt sorry for me “stuck there with those two old people” so he would come get me and take me to bonfires and swimming at the neighbor’s, to the county fairs in the area and just driving around. (My uncle made me call my mom and ask her permission before he would let me go with him.) After we stared dating, I spent most of the summers with my aunt and uncle. We got married 4 months after I graduated from high school.

How did we meet ? I was bartending. She was there with a friend of mine. She spent the night talking to me. On the way home I got a speeding ticket. Before I went to court I went to her office on the Rutgers Ag campus. I said, "If this guy doesn't take my license tonight, will you go out with me?" Judge didn't take my license, and the rest is history. A case of instant LIKE at first sight that has never worn off. Some things are meant to be.
What kind of car were you driving? :pop
