Hello Pond family!
Can anyone tell I had a lot of catching up to read??
Seems like all is basically well, at least as far as the Pond wellness goes.

@OneMountainAcres i didn’t see an update on the kids ankle?
@Pyxis we need pics of Pixel in her onesie! And the new straight-run pullets lol!
@dan26552 great looking birds you are breeding. I still feel like your proud Auntie. Too bad your “aunt” couldn’t have seen Lee Greenwood with you! I love him!!
@pennyJo1960 love the cat tree! Are they using it? Are you going to cover it with carpet or anything?
@sourland glad you are feeling better. Are you back to Sour-normal now?
@room onthebroom Dolly still cracks me up. How often does she get a new wardrobe?
@Alaskan glad the boy made it home safely. And just drink the damn spouse’s coffee and learn to like it! Lol

@Toothpick Welcome to the Pond. Sorry it wasn’t the kind of pond you were expecting, but it is a very welcoming pond. Yours looks super! Are you stocking it with fish or what?

Ok, that’s all I can remember, I’m sure I’m missing something, my apologies.

Gawd, it’s been so hot and humid here, heavy 5-minute downpours every few hours have been crazy! Today is a bit more bearable. Wanted to go fishing, took the day off to spend with hubby. It’s our 17th anniversary today!! Good grief, that seems like a long time.

Fishing sounds like fun!

I thought I was gonna see a pond here and I was gonna show the work in progress. I’ll show it anyway. Our own Redneck Rivera. Ain’t quite figured out how to get rid of the algae making it green yet.

Looking good!! If you want better algae control, you may want to consider adding shade to your pond…..i have 2 ponds connected and the more shaded one grows less algae. Adding pond plants can help as well but depending on size of pond and your koi it can be tough keeping plants healthy for pond coverage (my plants are in front pond which gets more sun and holds smaller fish). I also have to rinse/clean my fountain filter approximately 1-2X per week as it gets stopped up with algae

Poor DH. I am in full on project mode. I want to put new shelving in my pantry. So every time the man has come in the house today, he’s been met with, “So I’ve been thinking….” and “If I’ve got this figured out right…” For some reason, he’s been keeping very busy elsewhere today. (I don’t have time to do it today anyway - getting ready to process chickens tomorrow.)

I do like the idea of shelves in the pantry I have two sets of shelves in ours.
We have sun but not suppose to be real hot 75?.

I am back to 100 % normal - well, my sort of 'normal'.

Ladder Man, haven’t heard that one in a long time.
For those that don’t know/remember, that comes from a “how did you meet your spouse/partner” conversation. My first sight of him, he was up on a ladder, top half of his body was hidden from view, up in the drop-ceiling. But from the bottom half, I felt I had to see the rest!

Anybody else want to share a “how did you meet” story?

How did we meet ? I was bartending. She was there with a friend of mine. She spent the night talking to me. On the way home I got a speeding ticket. Before I went to court I went to her office on the Rutgers Ag campus. I said, "If this guy doesn't take my license tonight, will you go out with me?" Judge didn't take my license, and the rest is history. A case of instant LIKE at first sight that has never worn off. Some things are meant to be.

Happy Anniversary! At 17 years, you’re still newlyweds. We’re coming up on 40 in September. (I seriously don’t feel old enough to have been married that long!)

Does anyone ever feel "grown up"?????

I REALLY like my pantry... it has open roll out drawers, which means each one can be stuffed, organized, and pull all of the way out to easily find stuff.

I also have some of the tall vertical slots to hold cookie sheets and such...

Horizontal slots to hold large platters...

Wine rack...

We set it up maybe 15 years back.... still works great.
