Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Dangit, I couldn't wait after that.

Quick in situ candle with phone in muted daylight:
6 growing Calls.  That is like "window into an egg"!  Do they not have calcium or what?  Why are they so easy to see through?
at least 6 Ohiki and Silkie, didn't read them, just passed over them.  Good rosy color in many even though no veins showing
no idea on Ams
a few SFH showing, unfortunately one has a nick and top to bottom crack.  I will mark it when I candle next.  It's the best developing one.  :hit
:barnie did the PO crack it?? Are usually find about day 10 the best for Swedish flowers unless it is a really light colored eggs

I've got chicks today! Most I'm not keeping (they were a hatch I'm doing for my friend) but this one I am:

700

It's the star of the article I've been doing on embryo development and I've got pictures of it every single day of its development, lol.

I also set my OEGB eggs. I'm babying the heck out of them this time. They're getting their own incubator and I'm incubating them in an egg carton and hand turning. I will get chicks this time, darn it!

I saw the little peck on the side and sealed it, but I didn't see the full extent of the crack until now. I've successfully incubated cracked eggs so I may give it a try. My cabinet, even though it runs at 50%, is a dry environment. I'll pull it tonight, and sanitize and seal the crack.

Yes, they get calcium, lol... and they eat extra when they need it... welcome to the wonderful world of waterfowl eggs! Chicken eggs are opaque, waterfowl are translucent... made slightly different for optimal success in different environments is all...

Sorry about the SFH egg... :fl it pulls through!

I'm going by Kathy/internet research but it baffles me where in the world did they get 210mg per day for 3 days? :so

Albendazole

:idunno

I see weird dosages all the time... I think Kathy even found some of Twin City's dosages posted on their website to be wrong too...

Albendazole 11.36% should be 0.08 mL/cc per pound of weight 1x in a day... we did experiment with a 3 day regimen of Albendazole for the gapeworm overload here and it worked well...

So cute!!
I haven't found OEGBs to be hard to hatch at all. Tough little birds.

And :fl :fl
I'm about to give up on calls. 2 were zipping and one of the died while zipping. Fully formed, yolk almost completely absorbed. Today is 26 days. The other is hatched and has a deformed head and crooked bill! :barnie

Same way with lavender eggs. Even though they are light colored eggs, they are hard as heck to see in.
