What are the brown ones?



That there is sumpin I'd rather not do

The brown one and the white with black are both turkey poults.

3 week old CX. @abbevilleoz I know you were interested in them. Took these pics yesterday.

They're bigger than the poults!?!?!? Are you going to do the weight gain stuff?

Since I haven't been giving a set amount of food I haven't been doing the weight gain stuff. I feed them twice a day, I take a scoop (not sure on exact amount) of feed and sprinkle it around and they go crazy.

I never raised poults but I hear they're quite amusing. I loved the CX's. Some of the sweetest birds, in the yard and on the plate.
We've got our own crosses in the bator now. I kept three hens to get eggs from but all but one died before POL. Their heart and lungs can't keep up with the weight gain unless you isolate them and restrict their food.

Wait til they get bigger! You'll have to make sure you're outta the way when you feed! I made a hanging trough out of plastic gutter.

Yea I know I will. It's funny because the first bit of feed will actually hit the floor and the rest usually hits the chickens as they swarm it.
