My 4 legged babies and my lil chick whisperer.
:ththey'll be climbing on the car . She is adorable :love

FLEAS ! :barnie Anyone else having flea problems ? I am facing a flea invasion like never before. My truck even has fleas - seriously, How the hel l they got in there is beyond me, but I had to flea spray my truck. Our golden has fleas, the beagles have fleas, Scaredy Cat has fleas (dusting her was a treat), and I am guessing the entire yard has fleas. :barnie
Well I did But washing with Adams dog shampoo took them right off me ;)

CRIPES..... it's noon already and I haven't done anything yet.... better get going....
Let see By noon I had bathed Ben fixed him breakfast .Got his lunch and backpack ready. Put him on the van. Fed and watered all the chickens set in a roll of hay for the goats . Killed two fire ant hills. vacuumed the 38 gallon aquarium and fed the fish . Went to the dollar store for milk which they didn't have :( I won't tell you what I did after noon . Makes me tired just thinking about it . BTW your retired remember ?

Thanks everyone, they grow so fast, they were born in March and April. The grand is 7, they grow too fast too!
Fleas are horrible here also. And the flies...Omg I think all the flies in the world have taken up residence here.....

So tired of the rain.
Your still retired right ? :lau

Yea, first load of laundry is ready to go out on the line and wouldn't ya know it, the clouds are moving in and I hear thunder...Ugh. already have towels hanging on the line inside, not enough room for more till they dry. :/
That brings back so many memories . Only we wasn't live off the land types just poor . Come to think of it still poor . Is you beaten them cloths on a rock or is you one of them high living folks what's got a scrub board?:lau Or is you really fancy and got a wringer washer . Do you generate lectricty by running them goats on a tread mill? Is you a hill billy or a ridge runner . And dis is da most protant question of all . So listen good does you know where a feller can get some good corn squeezins ??????????????????????? :lau:lau

The bright side.... We're not in a drought here this year...:)
Lots of rain coming in from the gulf day after tomorrow .:th

We don't have city water or a well right now so we currently pump non potable water from our creak and this also waters the animals. Last year we had to haul water in from the end of may thru the end of Nov. As much as need a couple of sunny days I greatly appreciate the rain this year.lol
And she's probably laying a clutch somewhere....;)
I'm sure the water table could more rain . Close to rock here. Lack of rain is bad really bad .

That's what the mosquitoes are saying.

Speckie is a seven year old barred rock hen. Her owner, a coworker of mine, had her since she was a chick. Sadly, a fox got Speckie's last sister last week. Her owner's house is up for sale and she wasn't sure if she would end up in a place where chickens were allowed after the sale, so she didn't want to add to her flock.

So she called me up and asked me if I would take her. She assured me she was still laying. I said yep, I'll take her. My coworker kept saying things like it was okay if I changed my mind and was so grateful that I was taking her. I kept thinking "she's one more chicken. Do you know how many birds I have (I don't)? She's no work at all and the feed she'll eat is pretty much negligible compared to what I already go through."

So she got settled in tonight. She's bonding with two roosters I had to add to my flock and in about a week or so they'll go in as a group. She's a BIG girl. Has spurs, too. She doesn't take crap from the AC rooster she's in with. He danced for her. She was not impressed.

What really cracked me up though is this. Jean's flock has been closed ever since she got the chicks so I really wasn't concerned about diseases or anything, but I still asked about them because better safe than sorry. She assured me Speckie's never been sick.

Then she left this for me at work :lau
