Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Thanks! They're both three and a half, we have plans on breeding them at some point in the future but as of right now we have no females and doesn't look like we'll be getting one anytime soon.

She's really pretty! He's giant and Aslan is absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks. She's an amazing momma too, in fact she thinks she should be every babies momma. She'll even try to clean chicks
Drives all the babies batty!

Here's a cute video to sooth your scorched corneas !

:love

Your dog runs from those adorable, itty-bitsy ducks?

Don't let their looks fool you... juvenile Calls are terroristic hooligans, seriously... Brooke's first child tried to battle his/her grandma (Cuteness) AND Dragonlady this evening... Dragonlady was seriously going to kill him/her but the stupid chit wouldn't give up! :barnie

For you all that would like some.

Make that a double for me, please... heck, pass the whole keg, lol...

Went out to lock up my miscellaneous 8-week olds, and got this adorable pic. Blue Marans pullet, black copper Marans cockerel, serama in the middle! Same age, the little serama thinks the BCM is his dad! Follows him like a shadow.

Awww!!! :love

I've read every post too, lol... dang OCD and fear of missing something important... hey, reading the whole Pond is good for a lot of laughs!
Sorry for your white drake... :( I would give you Io if you were closer for him...

I just got in from taking care of the birds and found that the keets had attacked the chick that was in with them. It's a nasty wound, the beak has been severely damaged. I've cleaned it up and applied neosporin and tucked it into the incubator with the chick that just hatched today who seems to be enjoying the company.

I'm just not sure if this is something the chick can recover from. I'm fine with making its food a mash, hand feeding it a couple times a day, etc but I don't want to prolong its suffering if it's not going to make it. It seems to be fighting for now, I guess I'll just see how it does and if it seems like it's too much I'll end its suffering.

Yeesh, not a good day today. My parents are also dead set on rehoming the pig. They don't think she's happy here.

Sorry for the chick... and your parents... :hugs

She sounds wonderful.

Bob will do that, chicks, ducklings, baby rabbits or baby goats he loves them all and thinks he should help take care of them.

Oh, btw, for anyone wanting to know...

I heard from Turk today!!! :wee

She is doing good, very busy... has about 2/3 of her trailer finished fixed... not many birds, but got them cooped up today properly for the first time since the flood... just wanted to pass on the news and she sends her love!

Hope it recovers. The third little chick that i gave back to the cochins made it for a day and a half, found it one evening with a bloody ear. i think it was the juvies. Brought her inside with a couple OEGB babies, it will be fine though.

leave it and the dog will clean it up.... :sick:sick:sick:sick

Ewww ok, that's even worse. :sick

:wee tell her Hi!! I need to text her too.

Well, my mom is now thinking she might send Sephora back to the breeder, sigh. We've only had her five days and already she wants to give up because last night she was upset when she got put to bed and she keeps getting out of her room because they didn't buy actual gates to keep her in. So now the gates for her came in today but they don't want to open them and set them up because they might send them back if they're not keeping her.

I think it's too soon to be throwing in the towel, especially over something so little as her crying a little at bedtime and her getting out because she's not properly contained. But it's not my decision.

Anyway, that's just my rant of the evening. Now I have to try not to get too attached to her because they might send her back but they also want me training her, so I just don't know. Since pigs are so smart her target training has been coming along great, too, sigh.
Yes they are and they are heard animals. So as suggested later a stuffed animal might work . I hope you get to keep her.

Up here, we call giving someone a nap "hitting them over the head with a club". Don't know what you'd call it down there.
Well down here we don't give nobody nothing. If you want to get
your jollies here you gotta pay . Down here that particular kind of nap is called aggravated assault or 10 to 15 hard time . But only if they wake up and can identify you :lau
Rock em to sleep. . . with a real rock! Works every time
:eek:You spend a lot time locked up don't you? :lau

She may be lonely. Try putting a stuffed animal in with her to snuggle. A stuffed pig would be ideal. ;)
X2

That's awesome! I have two English Shepherds.

Bob who works more with the larger animals, the pigs and goats

And Rex who works the chickens and ducks more.

Do they work on command Dan? Can you stand at the gate and the dogs bring in the flock?

Dan you need that giant dog to go with your 7 foot monster goat!

I've raised 6 children, have 3 grands, and more animals than I really care to claim.lol
Gotta have quick, odd Witt around here.;)
Odd:confused: We're odd now ?:weeWell that's a step or two up from we were . Wait a minute don't know that I like that cause crazy keeps the nuts away :lau

Speak of which wonder why we haven't been haunted since the format change  Reckon he got a newer more transparent sheet and we just can't see him ????

For the chickens and ducks you kind of have to guide him, walk with him and tell him where to go and how much pressure to give. With the larger animals yes, I can tell them this is point A, this is point B, I need those in point B and they will put them there with no problem.

that is so cool. I wish Dudley would help me herd the ducks and chicks sometimes, but I'm just happy that he doesn't chase or bother them.
