Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Vacations are tough when you have birds and animals.  Bottom line is that NOBODY will do things as well as you do, and that is a concern.  For this trip we had a young girl (grand daughter of the princess's best friend) stay at the house and take care of things.  She did a really good job.  Problem is that she will soon return to college.  My usual caretaker does not 'house sit' so we take our house dog (surrogate daughter) to our daughter's usually.

Saw the dumbest "house-sitting" story on one of those "entertainment tonite" type shows a couple days ago. Apparently this guy had been hired to live-in sit for a cat. The owner had a video monitoring system and got notified of movement by text or email or something. Tuned in his camera to see the cat-sitter having sex on the couch, I think. Got furious and fired the sitter.

I mean, if they agreed to no visitors, then I could see being mad, but he was CAT sitting. Not a human baby, not something that required much work. A cat! He didn't throw a big party. So what, he invited a female over! Ugh. People need to get a life.

We worked on the boat all day today, and didn't get any coop work done, but I did get a few chick pics.

Maybe they shouldn't have looked at the camera...

Well at least it wasn't with the cat

Do you think that last pic still looks SDW? Her chest is a bit darker than my SDW hen. That's one that Harriet hatched about 6 weeks ago, as is the one above that, still alot of white.

Yes, from what I can see she looks pure SDW... chest tends to be darker when younger, remember sun fades...

Other one will keep a lot of white... very pretty...

Thanks. Here's a side shot. The 2 with white chests are really pretty, but look just a bit different. They aren't real friendly yet, so its been hard to get comparison pics of them, but one seems more variegated in the gray area. The other is real smooth gray.
