. So many of you live so close together (relatively).

Huge egg Phil! That one must have hurt.

X 2 on the sunscreen conversation. My worst burns were from overcast days -and I don't burn easily. Glad it's part of your boat gear now, WV

I mostly only travel around Michigan for work, back and forth to the office in Indianapolis, and down to my parents' house in south Texas. Other than that I rarely get out.

That may be changing, though, as DH was drafted for the elite hockey team and will be doing 2 tournaments a month from now through April when they go to Nationals. Never gonna get ANYTHING done around here, though...

Oh, sweet!!! Tell him huge congrats from us!!!

Really enjoyed watching him play... even if your DD got an incriminating photo, lol! :gig

Safe travels!  Give WV a big ole warm greeting from me, please!

Will do! This must be my lucky month! :D

My Araucanas were on the smaller side of a LF. I know that in some countries, Standards are different so it might be different SOP where you are. I would like to see a face pic sometime. Also, there was a good Araucana thread on here somewhere. I got off it after we sold out.

These are the parents of the ones we had. Black Breasted Red and they are US SOP. Sorry pic isn't great.

This is our girl at 12 weeks. Slate is the correct color on the legs. Not much comb going on. She was single tufted but one of the other girls liked to pic her tufts.

Hope those help some.

Thanks for your feedback PF - here's a head shot

No SOPs here in Kenya (or probably anywhere in Africa, I'd imagine) - chickens are either for eating or laying. Getting actual breeds is almost impossible, I'm sad to say.

Nah... cuz then JR would have to whoop on Shade and then I'd have to whoop on JR and by then you'd be ready for round 2 and I'll be wore out...

Guess I'm wrong again...I've always pictured you with dark hair/dark complexion. I've got it now...saw K refer to you as ginger. I sure hope you let JR take a pic of you with Wv!

No your not . No more than you weigh I could get you up with a row boat

Thought I saw muffs in the other pic. In US Pea comb and tufts, no tail are the thing, but in UK they have different standards. Muff are ok there I think I remember reading. Also someone on another thread gave a history of the Araucana and the Ameriaraucana (I can't spell) and aparently they both were developed from the same birds from South America, I think that's what I remember. Anyway, that's where the colored eggs originate from. Ravyn can probably chime in with more. I usually retain just enough information to confuse myself.

I don't breed, I just enjoy a rainbow flock so I learn a little bit about a lot of birds.

Anyway, she's cute! Enjoy.

Also, since I am new to the thread, just curious, are you a transplant or a native to Kenya?
