Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I don't burn....and I'm a awful dark complected to be Norwegian....wonder where the mailman was that day.
I've only been out of Michigan a few times Basic training and Mayo clinic.
Sad.....i wish i could travel now we got animals...and....my wife doesn't like to leave the house.
If it was up me we would never be home.
Also understandable....you all don't really have the luxury of special birds when you want to feed yourselves.
Howdy Chris...
Okay i got to ask.....what's in your name

PUDDIN FLUFF?

Sounds like you might be feeling a little better today? I hope so.

Traveling for work is not as much fun as one would think. Typically go in late one night or early the next morning, do meetings, go home.

We've done a few memorable family vacations but not enough. Colorado and Arches National Monument in Utah was a great trip. I've never been to most of the National Parks much less elsewhere, other than living in Mexico for a while and a few trips to Costa Rica and many to Ontario.

Maybe there is a landrace worth developing and promoting? Birds adapted to the local conditions, but selectively bred for highest production and easy keeping.

My experience only numbers in the several hundreds of blue and green egg layers, but pea combs seem to be tied to blue egg in the Am/Ar/EE lines, and other combs to green. But under the green is the blue gene, so as long as she lays a non-brown egg you are off to a start.

Thanks for the feedback, Walnut. We do have a landrace breed (google KARI kienyeji chickens, for more info if you wish) and they lay respectable numbers of eggs (around 5 per week - or at least the ones that i have do). I did get the BLH roo to breed with these girls to reduce their size, thus food intake, and hopefully (but to be honest, I doubt by much) increase egg production. Its more of an hobby experiment, not something serious. We have commercial varieties, so farmers go for these, rather than anything else.

Thanks for the input on combs and egg colour (its good to be prepared for the worst) - but as you say, as long as the eggs are non brown, then its fine by me as it gives me just a little more interesting egg box combo.

Traveling for work is zero fun.

Cool, when did you live in Mexico?

Fresh from the Lake King Salmon...I'm supposed to go out to Fairport this week fishing for Kings.
I fixed my friends boat....after he and his partner struggled for hours...so he's taking me on a free charter. But he's stood me up before after i fixed his other boat. This will be the last time if he does it again....he can PAY someone else to fix it.
They probably won't make house calls either....so hopefully he keeps his word....
