Could the meaties live with the 4 week olds? I'm of no help in cleaning the dirt.

Guess the meaties would snooker the 4 week olds - they are bigger than the 4 week olds already!
From what I hear about meaties, I would not want those in my house... but I'm not sure...

As for then pen, not much you can do about the possible eggs in the ground, deworming just purges the birds... just try not to ground feed at all or very much... maybe Kathy has some ideas???
the brooder is in a separate building, but still its not god to keep them indoors -Chaos mentioned the same a while back.

Thanks for your feedback both of ya. Think I'll go with putting the meaties in the pen and keeping the 4 week olds in the brooder (its 2*2.5m so not too small) for a couple of weeks more than I planned - i can always double the size of the brooder if I wish

If cleanliness is next to godliness then keeping meaties indoors is definitely not God... :lau

Ditto on the meaties. If they're the Cornish hybrids they will eat and poop you outta the house.
