I sent him a text....
With pics of my catch...... It takes a lot of smelt to make a meal.
You fry them and eat them like French fries.
Back in the day we would net them.... By the garbage can full.... But they don't run to the rivers like that anymore. The spawn out on the sand bars
.... Some days though you can catch them on him and line by the hundreds...... Today wasn't one of those days.... There were millions of them out there tonight.... But they aren't biting real good.... But you take the good with the bad.

Bad is a perception . Its only as bad as you perceive it to be . Taking pleasure from the attempt is lost to most people. It is an acquired life skill that is hard to master but once achieved can make you realize what is truly important in life . I'm thinking you get as much pleasure out of landing one fish as you do a hundred no matter the size . I still remember my first fish. I was so excided I jerked that little catfish out of the water and fish and all went clear over dads truck I was five .
