It would likely be fine. The only part that bothered me about it, is they don't get fully rotated. I don't think it matters much when they are upright, but laying down, I'm not so sure. If you plan to roll them all the way over once a day, I do think that would work. Jmho.

Well since the whole purpose of turning is to keep the yoke from sticking . I don't see how it couldn't work

I just realized that broody Harriett's clutch of seramas is due to start hatching tomorrow or Wednesday! Gave her the eggs on a Wednesday, but seeing how cold it has been, I won't be surprised if they are a day or so late, but she is one fine broody. Love that hen.

Lots of success stories lots of questions answered. there are hundreds of variations on the design. Same goes for a plate brooder like Premier. The beauty of it is the chicks only use it when they need to warm themselves and they are allowed to have natural day and night time. Plus you can brood out in the coop year round thus keeping all the dust and dander and stink out of the house.....

I wont be doing any brooding for a year or two right now. but when I do I will be raising up about thirty or forty Guinea Keets.
