Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Omg! How did you manage that?
did not realize the egg was there. I normally don't go out in the chicken pen in the mornings. The keys for standing there honking at me and talking to me. I turned around and stepped, heard a Crunch. Looked down to see a gigantic yolk busted and a shell as long as my foot is wide and alsot baseball size in diameter

I think your morning chores should be limited to chasing hogs around the yard, Mini :p

Nice job!
I am much better at chasing hogs than picking up eggs

I'm wondering if that is some kind of fertility tradition for her?

Storm hit K after us... he said minimal damage, think part of his tractor shed roof blew up and a tree down in front yard...

That storm was no flockin' joke... I was in the duck pen when it hit and would've stayed there until it passed (funnily enough, not a duck sheltered in there with me, they all stood with bills pointed into the wind and hail) except I realized Peg was in the middle of the yard... she almost got flattened by our huge kennel that got thrown down the hill and was being pounded by the awful hail... rescued her and we hunkered down and rode it out... our solitary confinement coop got picked straight up and slammed upside down on the other side of our juvie duck house... other than that, everyone and everything survived...

This isn't snow... it's 6 inches of hail 3 hrs after it happened...

Dayam... glad it's all recoverable. I hope you can tote those sheds back to the appropriate places.

So without a doubt I got my first goose egg this morning, then I stepped on it

I have a dang hen turkey that waits until I go into the coop to collect eggs, then lay one on the doorstep before I come out.

That's right up there with the two turkey hens who squeeze themselves into a chicken nest box to lay, then require extrication. EVERY DAY.

I have no choice.... I was only able to get dail up till two years ago..... I can't get Cable TV or anything here. I'm kinda in the sticks.... If you turn left at the end of our drive. The next house is about 10 miles.
i feel your pain, we are surrounded by cable tv/net but our town wont allow it to come in, only satellites

My ducks, wood ducks, and feed-stealing deer!

@DwayneNLiz wanted to make sure you saw these
those wood ducks are so tiny compared to your others!
and why have you not eaten the freeloading deer yet?
