you were missed

So without a doubt I got my first goose egg this morning, then I stepped on it
Congrats and sorry! That's something I would do! In fact, the other day I happened to catch a hen in the act of laying her egg, she's one I wanted to mark which chicks came from her... I waited til she popped it out, grabbed it up, turned and smashed it right into a roost... :he
I just transferred all 23 call eggs to the hatcher. :weee
:ya
Sitting in the waiting room this morning. Wife is getting her procedure done this morning.
:hugs Hope all went well and it helps...
i caught one of my roosters raping my ducks last night when i went out to feed i grabbed him and my husband yelled at me that i couldnt put him in the other coop i really need to do something about all the gd roosters
Tell him if you can't dispatch and process, then he needs to build them their own bachelor pad and they're his responsibility...
In other hatching news... Checked on Harriett (oegb on 7 serama eggs) before I left the house and could hear peeping!! Peeked under her breast feathers and found an empty egg, still moist, but didn't get to see the baby. But I heard at least one!! So excited to see how many she hatches!
Awesome!!! :highfive: My crazy Ohiki broody that's been glued to the shavings bag on my porch hatched hers, lol... I meant to swap eggs out, but I didn't think she would actually stay after all the storms threw chit at her all the time... nope, she never budged! :lau

If you ever find yourself in a situation where you have a single duckling hatch, you will soon understand how needy these little ones can be. After 4 nights of loud peeping at bed time, I thought that maybe my picture in her bed would help. And to my surprise, IT WORKED!!! The crying stopped instantly and when I went to see why this is what I saw... Little Hope sitting in front of my picture? She is finally happy and I can finally sleep!!
Great idea! And makes sense since we all end up glued to the bators with our faces in the windows, lol...
Oh, they did hatch on your birthday, I remember now. Ready to be unemployed? Not really. Still have to make my reservation at the poor house. LOL
Now maybe you'll pass me in post count on your own thread... :lau
It's amazing how easy it is :lau
Ain't that the truth... :/
Good morning everybody. Had a rough few days with the hand/wrist but did well in Lima with the seramas .Was starting to feel down about all the things I couldn't do and then I saw this post on my facebook from 3 years ago and it made me laugh and think of @sourland and how people have cheered me up :hugs Pants on the ground!!!!! :lau :lau :lau Thanks for all the laughs and friendship during this rough time :love
:hugs Good to hear from you... hope things are getting better...
can you eat them? i dont know much about avian influenze
Nope, absolutely not... if they test positive or they order a depopulation on suspected infection, they are put down and buried immediately... the reason it's such a scary virus is that it is susceptible to mutation to human contamination... *could have* the ability to infect people from chickens, also called a zoonotic disease...
Yeh I was in Pigeon Forge too!!! Lot closer to you than Rav. A crap ton is right!
JACK!!!!!! :hugs And he dumps off the 'well known breeders' line and keeps my own line... must have excellent taste... :thumbsup

Funny... I was told it sounded like I was having a bad day and should come back the next and hope it was a better day... For a post made when I was supposedly PMSing, looks like a few agreed, lol...

lol that stinks that you smushed a prized egg

thats what will be happening, but our empty coop has no power and therefore all waters would freeze

where are your pictures of broody and babies?
thanks, i read up a little more on it, but was still uncertain
you wrote it well but she hasnt been back on since that

Darn geese stopped laying for the past three days :barnie

They are also wandering and I don't like it. My property abuts two roads, one a very slow dead end and the other a slow dirt road. The were in the dead end road yesterday. I don't like that, no matter how quiet it is. They're heading for getting themselves locked up.

Better news though is that I'm fairly sure the egg I did get and set is fertile and developing!
