Luckily with all the snow she can't have a nest elsewhere, but I really don't care for the wandering, lol.

i know in my fields there is a good 2-3' of snow but around the bases of trees and bushes there is none
good luck keeping them home

Funny, I have multiple pens and not one heated waterer...

Sad about Welshchick... by the time I posted, they had already gotten 'please try to rehome' so many times I think it was too late...

what do you do with your waterers, or does it not stay cold long enough?

Incuview screw up on my part, lost 2 eggs, rest are doing well. Hatch is supposed to be 3 days, but I'm figuring 4 with the lid left of for 2 days

i used to ride a dutch warmblood, he was neurotic and had amazing breeding but was terrified of jumps (which is what he was bred to do)

I think my pullets must have been reading BYC last week. 3 out of 7 have started laying and my little punk cockerels have started mating (well, their version, at least) with my little blue egg-layer

I gave her a bit of a trim last night to improve the odds of fertility

My fricken turner for my Brinsea is broken- again!

At least not a catastrophic failure like that time, which if had happened now would have broken all of my eggs, but annoying nonetheless. It gets to one point and gets stuck. This same exact thing happened to my 20 turner too. It gets to one point and then the turning mechanism goes slack and doesn't move back. After googling, it seems like the turner clutch may have become worn and needs to be replaced.

I just sent this $#!@ thing in to be fixed in January and they couldn't have fixed that while it was there? I'm not sending it back in again and waiting a month and paying $10 for shipping to have it fixed. No, they're going to send me the part to fix it. They're going to get a rather irate call at 8:30 when they open.

Well that went better than I expected. I just called now and they were finally open and they are sending me a complete replacement end. They said they will ship it out today and include a return label so I can send back the other one.

No, canceled my order of hatching eggs and culled my roo and 2 hens. Not sure I'll hatch anytime soon, maybe some EEs to replace some layers in a few months.

All the bare dirt was covered with weeds this morning. Chickens are pigging out on wild mustard! Still have a huge mountain of leaves to shred.

Oh and Deb, I'm done with the spring contract. Should settle into normal hours now.
