glad the daughter avoided that catastrophe and it alerted you to her cars needsAnd my weekend carried over through todaySo while DD and me were going to the art gallery . I made her drive because she hasn't driven on the interstate much . when we got to the middle of Nashville the traffic slowed to the normal congested mess . I was telling her to leave room between her and the next car because the traffic could stop in a instant . The words just got out of my mouth and the traffic stop and the car in front of us rear ended the car in front of it . She almost hit them it was close . While she was in the gallery me and Ben hung out with the car . I noticed her front tires were worn on the inside really bad . Them little wire hairs were sticking out .
So all day yesterday I put new lower ball joints in her car . And brake pads and today four new tires and different wheels .Wednesday she is off to Birmingham for a metal working conference . Her first long trip alone . Late Saturday afternoon DW and I went to see Oliver and I went to Conner's ball practice . I even helped with batting practice .Little kids are so much fun . I get to hold Oliver a minute here and there then somebody takes him away
. He's skin was yellow and getting more so by the minute . We left at 10:30 I had a very worried grandmother on my hands and a very worried son . They called the doctors emergency number and the nurse sent them to the ER . They didn't have a bed for him so loaded him in a ambulance and sent him to Vanderbilt in Nashville . They kept him under some kind of lights for treating jaundice for just over 24 hours got his numbers down and sent him home . I really thought DW was going to blow up and she isn't real happy with DIL at the moment . And guess who gets to hear it . They took him to the his doctor today and the number are good and he is nursing a bottle and mom . And my boy is doing fine today . One thing for sure my life ain't dull .![]()
so cool!!! even better that its not in with your chickens anymore!!
Oh boy do I know how that feels all to wellit is sad but I have learned that when they snuggle our neck and pass that's bitter Sweet..They are leaving knowing that they are loved.![]()
Doesn't make it easier but hopefully will offer some comfort. Be glad you didn't spend 150.00 dollars that came out of my medical bill fundto get the baby better and then it passes that evening.. I'm still a little bitter about how that played out, and the vet has me on his prayer list but didn't seem to hesitate to cash my check when I told him the duck died a few hours later... Lesson learned ( sorry I had to vent about that) just remember these beautiful ducklings all have a purpose, you just gotta find it. So sorry you lost one![]()

i hope she makes a good momma bird for youWell, Lacie goose is definitely broody. I was hoping she wouldn't do that since there weren't any eggs left in the nest but she had other ideas! Jasmine gifted her with an egg, it seems, so she can keep and hatch it. But now collecting the new eggs that Jasmine lays is going to be very interesting. Lacie's really sweet and doesn't mind me reaching under her at all but I don't like to disturb her. Now I get to play the game where I try to catch her off the nest to do the collecting.
Geese are such great birds. I've seen both Jasmine and Willow 'helping' Lacie with her brooding. They both go into the nest to keep her company, and they and Finn stand guard outside the nest watching over her. Jasmine likes to hiss at me when I approach the nest to try to warn me off. Silly bird doesn't scare me. Finn doesn't bother me at all, he's a very nice gander.
nice chicken? lol
Love the colors! Please keep posting as it grows.

It sure was kicking up a stink! Having released feral cats before, I've perfected the art of opening the spring door with a couple of sticks, so my hands were nowhere near![]()
Sorry to hear about your little call that decided to give up on life![]()
Here's a pic of my completed portable and adjustable roost. I just need to shave a bit off the edges of the 2" wood roost beams and I'm done. The bits of wood you see were only to get the sizing correct. I made it coz my shed / coop is likely to fall down soon, so I can move and play with the length of the roosts and in which run I want to put it.

And you try to claim you aren't handy! That looks pretty neat to me. How does it adjust?
I just came up with the idea. Never welded in my life! Only adjusts in terms of roost length, i.e. I can place the two supports closer or further apart, depending on flock numbers and location. I just didn't want to build something that i could not get in and out of a regular door, so I can change things up, should i so wish.
Oh, I see!! But you had the vision, so you get credit for that part.![]()
Interesting for sure. I don't think I've ever seen one! On tv.More closely related to a Mongoose... My guess its convergent evolution.... Kind of like a Pig and a Peccary. both fill similar niches in their environment but they are not related. Muscovies and Ducks.... not related fill a similar niche... Big differences in behavior... deb
How many did she end up hatching? Did all those chicks survive that your mom ordered? Thanks.Oh she does and yes she will rip skin if you're not careful. I'm sure that was awesome.
What kind of bird is it? Good morning everyone!
