Don't say that!!! :oldYou aren't at all!!! Please vent! Vent! Vent!!! I wish there was something more we could do than just be here for you! :hugs

You're not being a downer...It's just your turn to need a shoulder and we love ya and care! :hugs

What the ladies said. You didn't know. They are a completely different sort of creature from anything you have ever dealt with before. They'll climb right up the wire of their enclosure like a squirrel.

Thanks. :hugs

Sorry, I'll try to stop being a downer. :(
WV hope old were these ducks and how long did their last owner have them?
They are wild ducks with a strong urge to do what wild ducks do...... People up here will let their Mallards migrate...... They come back.
I have a feeling this ducks will end up back where they started from eventually.
Other than that I'm sorry for your sadness....:hugs But I think the ducks will be fine......

Yep, I watched one do exactly that. straight thru a hole i didn't realize was there. I feel bad because i should have put them in something more secure, but biosecurity and all, I didn't have a pen available, just the bachelor pen. I was not well prepared, so that's my fault, and i feel terrible about that.

Pretty cool thing though, after one of the teals landed in the yard, I was slowly, cautiously trying to herd it into an open chicken pen. It knew what was happening, looked up, flew straight up in the air, probably 20 feet, made a 90 degree turn, and flew out one way, reversed, flew over my house, around the front, then back around the garages, and over my building again before i lost sight of it. Hubby was out by his garage, and came running. He thought it was the drake that had gotten out last night.
