I vote keep them. At least for a while & maybe reevaluate after you've gotten to know them better. Its probably not a good idea to decide while you're still reeling from the experience with the others.![]()
Good advice. They did well today, actually already seem to be getting used to me squatting by the fence, talking to them. They didn't go bonkers when i added a small box for their hiding pleasure either. Baby steps.
This makes me a little angry. Maybe she wasn't up to any kind of subterfuge, but theres something that feels a little shady about that (maybe just my city girl paranoia shining thru?

I feel the same! I don't think she did anything wrong on purpose, but i still feel like she wasn't totally forthcoming.

She did admit today that she couldn't really tell the male teal from female either. Until the looks change a bit more, I'm thinking they may have both been male anyway. But I could easily be wrong there. Surely they hatchery sent her a pair.

I cant believe we had to feed & house that effer for almost 50yrs.![]()
