We had another raccoon attack yesterday morning on our quarantine pen in the carport. This is a heavy-duty hardware cloth "tractor" with only the tiniest space between the top "hatch" and the walls (not even an inch). Somehow the creature was able to slide his paw in and grab the comb of one of our "replacement" 55's and give it a yank. The force of the yank fractured his beak as it slammed him into the hatch (not a clean break and he still seems to be able to eat) and the raccoon ate the nubs off his comb!
Thankfully, he was able to get away and seems to be doing okay.
That’s gotta be about as fun as the one we had in our attached garage. Yes, it did spray. Twice.
Makes me think of my late MIL. She had asked DH to teach her how to shoot the .22 so she could shoot the bunnies that kept raiding her garden. One day she called and told us that she shot a skunk. And then went on to tell us that she only wounded it, wasn’t able to hit it again to kill it, so she had to beat it to death with a 2x4. Then had to bury her clothes and shoes. That ended her career as a sharp-shooter.
I caught one in a foot trap. Had to shoot it from a distance. Then stay away for hours!![]()
That looks like where a toe would bump the wire going in or out ?I noticed something strange that I can’t figure out. I was adding feed to the “baby coop” where I have a quad of silkied seramas. It looks like something fell up against the screen on the front side and broke part of the wood. It was bowed inward, so it happened from outside, most likely. The dogs can’t get to it, and I don’t think any other birds have been out, unless it happened more than a couple days ago, so I’m not sure what could have done it?
It’s flimsy, but still would have taken some force to bust it like this.

Be inventive.... Turn it upside down and nail it to the Ceiling.... Solves the cat issue...We drove out to the country yesterday for bread & a Christmas tree. Now comes the annual, frustrating event of shuffling everything to find room on the broom for it. Maybe if I put the sofa on the roof & one of the kids beds in the kitchen & tv in the hall.....![]()
Beyoutiful..... Awesome to be part of such a communityDome got put up today.
Gusting winds, some rain, a little hail.
SO GLAD IT IS DONE!!!

I'm seriously considering just skipping the whole tree thing this year. We have some beautiful decorations and may just go with those. In our little home even that requires quite a bit of shuffling & storing things. Since we won't have any little ones coming to visit, I don't think it will be missed too much. Besides, should we expect some last minute visitors we still have lots of outdoor lights we could toss on one of the trees in the yard. (we don't normally put up outside lights anymore either because the deer don't seem to appreciate them and the bear just sleep thru the whole thing).Be inventive.... Turn it upside down and nail it to the Ceiling.... Solves the cat issue...
LOL.

Hang those on strings from the ceiling. Small ones tie to branches.Must be hard to keep presents under the tree, mounted on the ceiling.
