Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I see never heard of one of them....View attachment 1608112
Helped my brother set traps for a badger.
But it's not a dog friendly trap..... We do use dog friendly weasel traps though.... But I caught a cat once
I guess I should have said.... The cat was released unharmed.
Although I'm sure it had a sore toe for a while.

Dang freaking snowing again..... Hope it doesn't about to too much.... Don't really want to plow today.
So those two like call ducks of mine.... Yeah the ones I paid extra to get Drakes.
Both laid their first eggs yesterday......:gig
I knew a few days after I got them.... And one of them quacked that the hippie chick I bought them from was full of it.
But it all worked out..... They are great little ducks.
Congrats on their first eggs! :love

I need to make this quite clear, I’m completely barking mad.....in a very British kind of way of course.
As you can see, I have company. Two of the tribes that live here frequent my house. The senior hens (Fat Bird and Ruffles, black Maran and her best mate gray half Maran in left of picture) often come on their own to get away from the youngsters.

Cillin (the rooster in the nest box) has been very concerned about the lack of eggs. He just loves the sight of an egg! He’s been trying to encourage the hens to lay for the past couple of days. It’s a bit like the general forums, he hasn’t quite realised that the hens don’t lay eggs like machines and take some time off during the winter.
The young rooster with the straight comb is Block and his sister Tackle is the darker of the honey colored hens. Also featuring, Treacle (cockerel with pea comb) Fudge (lightest colored hen), Mel (she’s got minor brain damage I believe from birth problems).
This is one tribe. There are four here.

You'll fit in just fine here with the rest of us...:lau:gig:gig

Looks like it quit snowing.... Great. I really didn't want to plow today.
Not that plowing is such a big deal.
Truck works good and is comfortable.
Has all the creature comforts...... Radio.... Heat... Plush seats.
It's just a big ......."time suck"
And by the time I'm done first leave much time before dark to do much.

Yeah..... Pretty tiny.
Not worth eating.... And with no male call duck around..... I'm pretty much tossing them out.
But they are cute as heck.

:lau you’d laugh at my cartons then. Serama eggs take 6-8 to make a good omelet. But they still work!
My call duck eggs are some of the biggest eggs I get! :gig
(The cream legbars and the Marans lay bigger)

We eat em when I find em and Im not hatching.. just mix em with other eggs and scramble em.. Charity like em for french toast..;)
I don't eat many eggs .....I mostly use the duck eggs to make brownies.
The few chicken eggs I get this time of the year I eat occasionally.
I used to eat a lot more eggs than I do now...... Yeah all my birds even the chickens these days are just pets.... That I get a breakfast from once in a while.
