Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Found out right before Christmas that my only brother has stage 4 lung cancer that has possibly spread to his spine & kidneys. He's diabetic, was/is a heavy drinker, drug user (not the sharpest knife in the drawer), & was already in the hospital for an infection that started in a toe & wouldn't heal. Toe was amputated, then the foot, & finally the leg, just below the knee. Survival rate beyond 5 years is 2% or less. He'll be 61 in February if he makes it that far.

I try to keep up with the 'science' papers released about chicken behavior given I'm very interested in the subject.
Some of you may find this interesting. What's a bit different is the author has linked to the references.

Thanks for sharing. Going to check out that link.

Very interesting.... You might also paruse some of resolutions papers written right here... He is an Avian Scientist... and a very interesting read
Not active any more but some of his followers are.

He has some very intereisting concepts to housing and socialization as wwll as historical information

Link doesn’t work for me either.

@kwhites634 , sorry - can't like that.

Good morning Pond. Son and his family are coming today for 'Christmas'. Princess was very ill last night, and I thought we would have to cancel, but she is okay this morning. We did eat out last night. Possibly food poisoning ?
Morning Sour (and rest of Pond) glad to hear your other half is better this morning, hope you have a wonderful second Christmas

Hope she is ok, food poisoning is rough, if that’s what it is.
Was hoping to see the Tadpole today also, but looks like probably tomorrow.

ORR!! What a great pic! You've been missed! :hugs
A late Merry Christmas and early Happy NewYear.. Im so glad all the kids were able to be home! :love

:thumbsup

Good morning Pond Peeps. :frow
We have a lovely gray fog settled in this morning and a cold misty rain. :hmm
Thanks, Lisa!
It's so nice having my people back - although daughter has decided to cause some drama, so yeah... always something. :)

ORR!! Such a lovely family pic! :love
Glad you could pop in for a visit. How is next semester looking for you? Miss ya bunches. :hugs
Thanks WV! It's a better semester coming up (at least grading-wise) - i will still have my two sophomore classes, and the Children's Lit class at SU which will require grading, but I'm getting a handle on choosing one or two assignments to intensively grade, and speeding through the rest. I'll still have choir and piano, but I'm scaling those back a bit as well. I really just want a tiny bit if daylight to do birds and run.
How are all your people? I think I saw a tadpole pic on FB - growing like a weed (a pretty weed like vetch, not an ugly one like crabgrass - :) )
