Congratulations, Sour! That's a lot of New Years to celebrate together!I may very well be in bed by 9:04 without seeing the ball drop. The Princess and I just calculated that this is the 57th New Year that we have celebrated together.![]()
Glad you got there and back safely. It's especially cool that you got a personal escort right to the hospital and then handed over to someone else to help you.I can hear you. Made it home about a hour ago. No problem going down if you don't mind endless road closures that the lady in the GPS doesn't know about in a city you've never been in. Remind me to never go to Winston-Salem NC again! We'd still be running around lost had we not stumbled onto what had to be the friendliest, most accommodating cop ever. He didn't give us directions, but escorted us literally to the front door of the hospital & turned us over to a volunteer "guide" who showed us exactly where we needed to go.
The drive home was even more exciting. Not only did we spend an hour trying to get out of town, due again to road construction closures, we had the pleasure of doing it in the rain. Actually, everything we did today we did in the rain, & sometimes extremely thick fog.
In between trips, we got to spend some quality time with my brother. He spent a lot of time quietly staring into space & likely contemplating his circumstances & immediate future, such as it is. He also felt up to joining a wide-ranging 5 way conversation for over an hour. The hospital staff is intent on making him as comfortable as possible with chemo & radiation. There's talk about the possibility of going to a rehab center, but I'm not holding my breath. We'll see; miracles happen every day.
Naturally, it's sad facing the very real possibility of never seeing a sibling alive again, 'specially when they're 14 years my junior, but I'm glad I went, as I think he is.
Um, sure.Does sitting in a bar through a 5.0 earthquake count as "stuff"?
Blizzarding here, too. Travel ban was reinstated about 7:45. (The winds were supposed to go down this evening. I don't think Mother Nature got the memo.)Happy New Year.....

I don't about you, pal, but if my spouse invited me to "do stuff" it'd be a no brainer,
Not exactly the kinda shaking I was imagining.
Hope you didn’t spill anything.![]()
