HAPPY NEW YEAR

I may very well be in bed by 9:04 without seeing the ball drop. The Princess and I just calculated that this is the 57th New Year that we have celebrated together. :love
Congratulations, Sour! That's a lot of New Years to celebrate together!

I can hear you. Made it home about a hour ago. No problem going down if you don't mind endless road closures that the lady in the GPS doesn't know about in a city you've never been in. Remind me to never go to Winston-Salem NC again! We'd still be running around lost had we not stumbled onto what had to be the friendliest, most accommodating cop ever. He didn't give us directions, but escorted us literally to the front door of the hospital & turned us over to a volunteer "guide" who showed us exactly where we needed to go.

The drive home was even more exciting. Not only did we spend an hour trying to get out of town, due again to road construction closures, we had the pleasure of doing it in the rain. Actually, everything we did today we did in the rain, & sometimes extremely thick fog.

In between trips, we got to spend some quality time with my brother. He spent a lot of time quietly staring into space & likely contemplating his circumstances & immediate future, such as it is. He also felt up to joining a wide-ranging 5 way conversation for over an hour. The hospital staff is intent on making him as comfortable as possible with chemo & radiation. There's talk about the possibility of going to a rehab center, but I'm not holding my breath. We'll see; miracles happen every day.

Naturally, it's sad facing the very real possibility of never seeing a sibling alive again, 'specially when they're 14 years my junior, but I'm glad I went, as I think he is.
Glad you got there and back safely. It's especially cool that you got a personal escort right to the hospital and then handed over to someone else to help you.

Does sitting in a bar through a 5.0 earthquake count as "stuff"?
Um, sure.

Happy New Year.....
Full blow blizzard going on here.... Gonna be a pain to plow tomorrow.
Blizzarding here, too. Travel ban was reinstated about 7:45. (The winds were supposed to go down this evening. I don't think Mother Nature got the memo.)

Happy New Year, Pond!
Fourteen minutes to go, and it will be 2019 here. The rest of the people in my house have gone to bed. I should. I'm tired. But, I had to check in with you all first, and now that it's so close to the New Year, I'll still a few minutes longer. Should be close to midnight by the time I finish brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed.

Sounds like the visit went as well as it could have.... sorry you didn't figure out how to teleport there and back though. :hugs

I don't about you, pal, but if my spouse invited me to "do stuff" it'd be a no brainer,

Yeah... we have been doing that too. ;)

Not exactly the kinda shaking I was imagining.
Hope you didn’t spill anything. :D

Nope. The bar tenders grabbed the big bottles off of the shelves... but no one else cared. Kind of funny how blase everyone was.

:lau:lau you made a funny. He had that no brainer at least five time :)

Had it only been five times... I would have been dead by now
:lau

:idunnoNever been there. Is it anything like the back seat of a 56 ford with wore out shocks on Friday night ??

Yep, this one was quite similar! Some roll more, and some are more like a jolt or slap. But this last one was very much like the back seat of a 56 Ford with wore out shocks! :lau

Happy New Year.....

Ack! Yeah... we had nasty wet snow earlier today... told the neighbor that we were gone and he could do the driveways if he wanted (we do his for free). After he was done he said it sucked having to push heavy wet snow......

1 more hour to go here before new years.

The fireworks for the city were set off at 8pm!!!! Pretty funny!

Spouse wants us to go to a speakeasy tomorrow. :old

You have to go to a payphone, hit a special button, answer a riddle, get the password, be told to enter the red or green door... go in the correct one, get to the secret entrance, knock on a closed door, where just like in the movies a guy opens a sliding peep hole, asks you for the password... and you have to tell him.. THEN you get in.

:th

Can't we just go to a regular bar? :rant
