Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Finally a wild duck sat on the platform that we made!

No nesting...... but nice that he thought it was a good perch.

It was a good end to my day.... just saw him as I pulled on to park..... just got home from the town 2 hours away... I had to drive up there because I thought that my retina was detaching.

Turns out it wasn't. .. it is
1. I am old and my eye jelly is getting smaller, so pulling away a bit at the edges and so caused a huge floater... it does mean more stress is being put on my retina for the next 6 weeks... so I have to pay close attention in case it does detach.

2. I am stressed and so my body made a tiny bubble of liquid under the retina... that is messing with my vision... but is NOT permanent... and will go away as soon as I destress. :idunno

I got Ducks :barnieDW brought home two ducks today. A white one and a brown one .:rantIn a box full of duck poop:sick IN MY CAR!!!!! Why is it ducks feel the need to poop in front of the door ?The door going into the main lobby of the hospital where she works .They asked her to bring them home with her because they were a nuisance .:th

Good morning!
@perchie.girl - I've been thinking about/praying for you and your upcoming leap off the high dive - that it will be remarkably successful with a quick recovery!
@WVduckchick - Wow! Life is just such a fascinating story! Pretty amazing!
@Alaskan - oh man... sorry for your stress! So odd how it can manifest itself in different ways. Hope whatever it is that's giving you grief will be resolved soon - or that you'll find some peace in the midst of it. Quoting loosly from someone: "Sometimes He calms the waves; sometimes He gives us peace in the boat."

You're getting "old"???? Didn't think Alaskans got old. Thought they just sort of slowly thawed out and eventually just melted away. ;)
Seriously, glad it wasn't anything more vision threatening. :hugs talking-to-god-smiley-emoticon.gif

Morning Ponders :caf It is morning right? Had a small rumbler storm roll thru just before daylight and the puppers decided the safest possible place in the whole wide world is on top of my head!?!?! :barnie Couldn't fall back to sleep so here I am waiting for the rain to stop so I can go kick the chickens off the roost. Hey, if I can't sleep, ain't nobody sleeping in! :smack :p
Besides I have to brave all the "weekend warriors" up here for the free fishing weekend and drive to the big town for my appointment to get my background check and fingerprinting done for the census job. Really? They think my fingerprints have changed or I've robbed a bank since the last two times they did this? Oh well, gives me a chance to hit the thrift shops and maybe some antiquing etc. Girl's day out!!!! :ya

Mom's been with us for a couple weeks now. She heads back to my brother's house Monday. She's sad and asked if she could stay here... I'm thinking we can work out a compromise at some point, but her memory is so bad we keep having the same conversation... and she's still sad. :(
:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

Not sure I like the sound of this. Thrift shops, yup I know what they are....
A girls day out and the antiquing bit I'm not so sure about. Is that trying to pick up old men?:D

Yes it is.... I am doing it because its in my genes to live to over 100. Being active till I am in my early ninety's...

I keep dreaming about my horse and riding.... Not about dead horses and looking for them. I dont know when my dreams flipped over but I think thats very hopeful
