The yellows are Chamois, the dark one a Golden Spangled

So, photos. I know the toes on the left foot look a bit bent, but I am thinking that is due to the pain or balance...

Note the right leg is held way out, which is why I thought dislocation... but again kid #2 couldn't feel any oddness in there.

Also note the sore on the injured leg... looks bigger than it did at first... at first I thought the chick had just scraped it on an egg shell ....

But now it looks more impressive.

Anyway, at a loss, I put a hobble back on. :idunno

Does the tendon on the back of that leg look and feel normal? It does in the picture but you can see better and double check, to make sure it's not slipped tendon.

That is what I thought it must be... dislocated or a slipped tendon...

Because the right leg is held way out to the side, chick tries to put zero weight on it.

But when that was the issue in the past, it could be felt and manipulated.

I (and I had 2 kids also) felt it over... and we don't feel anything that feels like it is different or needs to be moved back etc.

Chick still isn't wanting to put any weight on it... I will feel it over again in the morning super carefully, maybe make several different kids help too.

But it LOOKS like something has to be pushed back/slid back into place.... but we can't feel what is wrong.

I had kid 2 that has successfully fixed this issue in years past just go through the motions of gently stretching out the leg to get everything back where it should go... but nothing happened.

Do you have a favorite video to watch?

We looked, but only found a jillion hobble videos, and stick the chick in a sling or a cup.... and none of those are what we need.

We need a "do this" and the tendon will pop back.

Because totally guessing... it is more likely that we couldn't feel a tendon verses a dislocation. And the sore on the joint points more towards tendon..... but :idunno

Hi Ponders :frow
thought I would let you all know I'm still kickin'. All's well on the homestead. Just two old fogies stayin' clear of town when we can and working on getting ready for the white stuff and kind of missing the summer visitors.

Things were getting better with the virus, but thanks to the idiots not giving a $%^& about anyone but themselves and the fools re-opening the schools, the numbers are climbing again and far faster than before. The governor just issued a new mandatory mask mandate until the end of November and a lot of things went back into lockdown in the populated areas.

Had two nights of killing freeze down in the 20's so that's the end of the growing season so I was able to get the garden put to bed. Crazy weather, we hit 80o today. We need rain.

DH has been working on the mess left by the loggers close to the house. It's just a huge horizontal pile of limbs and debris but he's whittling it down. Not easy for him. He's not 60 anymore and his knees are shot so bad he can barely walk but he refuses to quit. Just can't keep a good man down. He's otherwise sound as a dollar, well, except he can barely hear. Finally got him to get hearing aids and they help a lot, when he wears them.
I surprised him yesterday with a small chainsaw that works on batteries for cutting up the piles of smaller stuff. It works perfect and no gas to fool with and it's a lot lighter than that big gas thing he gave up on and resorted to loppers and a hand saw. The saw cuts like a big guy on the small stuff and he worked all afternoon on one battery charge but I also bought another battery that has triple the charge. I'll be using it too for all the pruning that needs to be done on the trees left around the house and out in the field. (that's my job because I worked doing that for extra cash a million years ago)

Sorry about your situation Al. Phil hang in there and try to not get sick yourself.
Glad to hear your progress Deb!

That's it here in God's northwoods. Blessed far more than we deserve.
Never got sick.... knock on wood.
Bobbies mom is deathly ill.
But the woman who tells everyone else what to do won't go to the doctors. Gives me the excuse to avoid her anyways
