Theres a big differnece between now and the great depression. its called factories peoole We have allowed business to leave our country. You all worry about Japan a nd China owning us Don't they already If all those foreign countries stop importing goods to us where will we be. I'm talking food clothes, necessities not oil. We can't manufacture them here any more They own us already where we live our every day existence.

I LOVE selling my eggs too....at the local farm but my flock is molting currently and I'm only getting 1 egg a day!

The phone is ringing off the hook for eggs and my new girls have at least another month before the first egg comes. Naked chickens what a sight!! LOL Here in NH I free range my flock with completely cuts the feed consumption down to about a bag a month for 24 chickens. BUT...once the snow starts it'll be back to the feed and scratch. I try to provide fresh greens/cabbage during the winter months...but that gets expensive too.
Pray for my girls to start laying again soon! Thinking about lighting the coop!!

Do Not Worry
25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Right!! just go to the Dollar Tree and you will not find a single item 'made in USA' except box cutters! Go to Kohl's or other department stores: all is made in Taiwan, India, China, Indonesia, Korea. You know why ? all the stuff is made in sweat shops (with kids) for cheap wage. Those workers earn less than a Dollar a day for their hard work - but they are sold here in the US and in all rich countries with about 2000% and more profit

Spot ON...I cringe when I think about our farming and industries. We used to get PINEAPPLE from Hawaii....but DOLE closed up because of OUTSOURCING....Chile imports it now. It has completely affected our economy negatively!!

WHY in the heck are we buying PEACHES AND PINEAPPLES from Chile??

BUY LOCAL Folks....that is the way to boost our national economy!!!!!!!

Guess pineapple don't grow here, but peaches.
The only thing is that they are harvested totally unripe, they are dry, taste like carboard. There is so much wrong in our economy - and I am not surprised that it is going down the drain. POLITICIANS NEED TO GET SOME COMMON SENSE AND/OR EDUACATION!!!! America ranks in subject education worldwide on place 29 - although it has the best Universities in the world. But, education here is only affordable for rich people or those who work themselfes to death for their children. I wish, there would be labels in clothing and other things "MADE IN USA" ... tHAT'S WHAT WE NEED TO BOOST OUR ECONOMY

Thank you....

That is what I feel - I am so upset that so many hard working people are getting ripped off from Bankers, Insurances and so on. I guess it is the way they make their fortune.
I am about to explode inside about this mess of greed and ignorance.

This is what I'd just asked and I could swear I'd heard some where that it's like a 6 month shelf life because it'll mold? I don't know if that's right & I can't remember where I'd heard/read it either. Maybe we can call one of the feed companies to find out?
