Welsummer Roosters?

Both of these guys are around 9 months old and were purchased as purebred Welsummers. But i have my doubts about the 2nd one, no black on his chest... Any thoughts on the breed of #2?

Sure does look like it

First does indeed resemble a Brown Leghorn, due to white earlobes.

Second is likely a crossbreed. White earlobes and mottling in the tail aren't right for New Hampshire Reds.

That means that neither one of them are Welsummers. That's funny that I never noticed the white earlobes before. I have 5 female Welsummers and I was hoping to breed the purebreds.
If the 1st one is a Leghorn that explains his aggressive personality. The red one is much more docile and will probably be one I keep. No matter what he is.

I'd say they are both Leghorn crosses but not pure. The first one matches the color for a Brown Leghorn but his body shape and size is off.

These roosters were purchased at a feed store from a bin of 'Welsummer chicks'. Makes me wonder if any of the feed stores know what they are selling.

I got my Welsummers from @R2elk, have you checked with him? I don't know if he still has them, but you could check.

They typically don't. But Welsummer and Brown Leghorn chicks look nearly identical too.
