We don’t have anything cuckoo, thanks for making this even harder lolI’ve never had a BCM so I chose Welsummer, but I do have a cuckoo maran.
2 and 2. That’s what I would do!I can have 8 chicks this April if I cull all my 3-yo EE hens. So I want 4 new EE checks and 4 (fill in the blank). Either BCM or Wellies. And I have to decide pretty soon!
For some reason, I always think I need each breed in fours We’re going to have to make some hard cuts this fallWhy di'n I think of that?
GORGEOUS!!! All of themI have 5 Welsummers. Good layers, very pretty eggs. The girls themselves are chatter-boxes though. There will be Welsummers that are quiet too, so it can vary between individuals. I do love my Welsummers, they are good birds.
They lay the darkest brown eggs in the carton.
I love the look of BCMs over partridge colours, but also want a pretty basket Someone is laying lightly speckled eggs and I’m not sure who it is! Totally understand the shipper chick ambivalence, my husband can’t handle it at all
Where did you get your Wellies? Beautiful egg coloring!I have 5 Welsummers. Good layers, very pretty eggs. The girls themselves are chatter-boxes though. There will be Welsummers that are quiet too, so it can vary between individuals. I do love my Welsummers, they are good birds.
