We're all hatchin'! Congrats, everyone!

LA~Poulet :

Thanks! I'm so thrilled to have any being a newcomer to hatching. Is it okay for them to eat a lot of bugs right away?

It will be warmer under our carport tonight than in our house (they are under a light either way, but outside will be less drafty and warmer overall). I just checked on them and they are hopping around pecking all the insects that are attracted to the light-do I need to keep them inside? They might not get any sleep tonight outdoors!

I'm not sure about the bugs, because they generally need grit once they start eating bugs. As for being outside, are they protected from predators out there? I'd want them in the house with them being so little, but I'm a paranoid chick mom anyway

Wait until they're COMPLETELY dry; they need the time to rest and recuperate from hatching anyway. Then, when you do take them out, make sure you do it very quickly, especially if more eggs are pipping; otherwise, the pipping babies can dry out and die
