Hi, everyone - I have learned a lot from "eavesdropping" on many of your forums. I currently have 6 layers (1.5 years old, laying very well, no roosters among these 6) and 8 barnyard mix (16 weeks old, that I am not sure what to think about yet).
One of the older girls hatched out the younger ones.
Out of 8 chicks, currently at 16 weeks, none are crowing yet. What do you all think of that? Eight pullets out of 8 chicks would be exceedingly rare, but not impossible. Yet, cockerels should be crowing or displaying other signs by 16 weeks, yes? ... or no?
Thanks.
