I have some very talkative ducks. Zehn was our spokesduck for the first year. That is like a spokesperson, but a duck instead of a person.

She would always call if she could not see me.

Very nice. Unfornatelly i could not did one another video today. I changed the water in one bath where swim my ducks, and white duck (who always call when i speak) swimmed there. I bring the water, but the duck dont get out - swiming and swimming. I hope to do any video or picture, but when i get to my home and returned width my camera, the duck get out from bath yet. I hope to catch she in another time ))
I have one old bath where always (in the winter too, because the room are warm) swim my ducks and sometimes 3 geeses. Every week i take dirty water for my flowers in the house. My hobby are the lemons, i have some lemon-trees in my house, and never buy lemons in the shop.

I have only one problem - sometimes this water smell. ))) A plant on the left side are coffe. Right plant are lemon too, but in this summer (when i take all my plants out from my house) the geeses eaten too much. My poor lemon! Now it are okay.
Its funny, you can see that the right side lemon are in white... I don`t remember this word in english... It was from toilet! Can you see? ))))

Wonderful you have lemons!!! I live in what we call New England. Gets cold in winter, but not as cold as it can get in parts of Russia.

Hello Pasha! One very good thing about a small house in the winter is that the birds will create and give off their own body heat, and that heat will stay inside the smaller house much better than if the 15 birds were living in a huge house. Does that make sense? I think your birds look quite healthy & happy in the picture. It is nice to see your birds and your lemons. I love the toilet tank, that is terrific!

I don`t remember why i get this crazy idea - to use a toilet tanks for the lemons, maybe or i don`t have money or time to go to flower-shop for buy anything normal (this shop are far from my house), or maybe i am very greedy ))) I always use all what i have, for example old baths are for the water of the rain, and there swim my ducks and geeses (in the spring, summer and autumn).

The baths are everywhere when i can get some water of the rain, near of my house and near of all my buildings ))) I use elecric power for get new water for swimming places of ducks only when we don`t have a rain. I collet very much baths yet ))) When the water begin to be dirty, i use it for the garden.

In the summer my ducks, geeses and turkey walk everywhere on my earth, they don`t get out only from my devense walls. I have a defense walls like a in any computer game. Here in my country (near of the Moscow, 50 km from the city) every people build the defense walls. We use it for any grazy wild dogs (and for any grazy people too).

My ducks are housed with the chickens and I have old English bantams that can't go outside at this time.
I have set up a kiddy pool and my waterer inside and tomorrow I am going to go get sand to put in the bottom. We will see how things go!

Now i don`t have much work now, i only give the food and water to my fowl, clean and heat the rooms, and repair my technik and instruments - prepare to spring. Next time in this winter i will go to buy some little incubators, and in the spring i will buy some young fowl. In the past years (when i don`t had any fowl) i worked anywhere in the city - sometimes i was cable-specialist (phones, panasonic-PBX, computer-nets...), sometimes i entered to any restaurant and worked there. I taked only one season, 3-4 month, and after that i tell to my bosses: "it was a very good and nice job, but now i begin to be busy, i am very sorry, good bye!". And i returned to my home and begin to build anything new.

Now the place where are my ducks are dirty, i did one mistake - i forget about the sand! I have only a grass. I take my old rope and use it for floor-washing... (haha, i use my old jeans for wash the floor in the room where are the ducks). I don`t know where i can get enough old and bad rope...

In the morning my chicken leaved for me one egg. Thanks )))

Sounds like you spend a lot of time with your fowl as well. Much more enjoyable than working if you can afford the luxury. Do you raise them for meat of just for enjoyment?or both.

Now i have the chickens for the eggs (i don`t have the chicken for meat now, i hope to buy it). Of course i eaten this chickens too, but there are no much meat. I eat alone one chiken on the supper. Every summer i sold the eggs. My price are higher as in the nearest shops, but i have enough customers.

In this summer i had much turkeys, now i have only 3 turkeys (they are not enough big yet). It was a funny story, i buy any turkey in any farms, sometimes i buy 2-3 turkeys (2-3 days old, or sometimes 1 week old). I don`t know why - but i always buy turkey-boys, and get no one "girl". I really had any crazy collection of very various turkeys, and every turkeys was "boys"! I think that the farmers sell me the "boys" for joking.
In the autumn i used my turkeys for the meat. Some meat i sell to the restaurant, some i eat. Now i have enough meat of turkeys in my refrigerators.

I eat the eggs of the ducks too, but i can`t sell it - in Rusia to sell the eggs of the ducks as the food are forbidden. I can only sell the eggs for the incubators, or sell young ducks. Of course the ducks are a good food too, but i don`t have now enough ducks. When i will have more as 50 ducks, i will can to use it for meat.

I don`t eat my geeses, i waiting too - when i will have more as 50-100 geeses, i will begin to eat it. In the Rusia are one strange rule: i really can`t buy young geeses, ducks or another fowl in the winter (last autumn i was too busy width my houses-building. I build a rooms for my fowl). The first traiding begin in march of 2014. I can buy only big fowl in the winter everywhere, but it will be not cheap, i will need too much money. For example one little goose 2-3 days old are 300 ruble (10$), and big goose are 3000 ruble (100$) or more! I don`t think as my big geeses are eaten 2700 rubles, they don`t eat so much. I think that the price is not correct. And i don`t like to buy too big fowl, for example i buy 8 geeses of my neighbour, but they are very wild, run from me and from my geeeses too, i losed 2 moths (!) for become one "friendship" width these geeses. I like these geeses too (and the price i licked too, it was only 500 ruble, less as 20$), but these geeses was very lean, dirty and had a bad feather. Only after 2 months they begin to be a fat and nice geeeses, like a mine. In this 2 months they eaten all what i give and very much.

So you got your neighbors geese and now they look much better because of your care. That's great. So your working on building your flock up, I find it very hard to think of my flock as food, extra roosters yes we have to butcher them but my ducks and geese are just too much like my family. I thought at one time yes but nope can't do it. I know some folks in different parts of the world haven't a choice their live stock is their food to keep them healthy but having access to grocery store makes me whimpy about eating my animals. . Do you do your own butchering or do you have someone do it for you?
