I’ve been having issues with one hatching chick. I finally finished assisting it’s hatch tonight because it was half out, sprawled out when I got home. The only way to get it out of the membrane was to soak it in a warm bath and slowly peel the membrane off. It is now back in the bator, 100 F and 75% humidity. It’s just laying on its side. It looks to me like the membrane had stuck the wings out of place for so long that it can’t use them. Is there anything I can do to help? I feel so bad, I may have waited too long to finish the hatch :hit
It’s still peeping a lot and it is trying to move but can’t get on its feet.

How is your chick?

I did some more reading and it looked like the reason it couldn’t stand was because it had curled toes. I made a splint and used a washcloth to try to help gently dry him off. I opted to put him under the heat lamp right away rather than leave him in the bator and this morning he is doing much better! Still lots of dried membrane keeping the down stuck to him, but he’s cleaning it really well. I named him Hercules because he’s a fighter
