What a day...What a week...How was yours? Vent here and feel the love!

We have a log cabin too!! We love it! We have one horse (a Belgian/Quarter horse Mix), a dog (Akita), two cats (one that was given to me and one that just showed up and stayed) and 19 chickens (2 Marans, 6 Faverolles, 2 Olive Eggers, 2 Easter Eggers, 3 ISA Browns, 3 California Whites and 1 Ameraucana). I want to get a Highland Cow next year...but we'll see how it goes!
I love those cows! And mini cows too but really there is no pasture here. The goats will be happy to eat weeds and brush. DH does not like cows because their poop is too messy! :lau

Here is a pic of my hunting dog Emma, she's a Brittney Spaniel. My wife bought her as a surprise present for my when I got back from Afghanistan. That's my cat MeMe. If sit down she's on my lap. Next spring we plan to get some goats. I need to put the fencing up. Here's a bat I found in my wood burner when I went to clean it out for the winter. I just let it go outside. I wouldn't know how to keep a pet bat.

And how does Emma do with the chickens, being a hunting dog and all?

You might want to get some mesh installed over your chimney. He could come back with friends.
What kind of goats do you plan on keeping?

Emma does OK with the chickens. No issues so far. She has known the chickens since they were chicks in the brooder. I socialized her to them. I'm looking at meat goats and milk goats. I love goat meat and I make my own cheese so the milk will come in handy.

I would recommend Kiko meat goats. Very hardy and good temperaments for the most part. Nubians for milk, love those girls!

I've got the dreaded lurgy.
I can't stop coughing. Thought I'd make a cup of tea to see whether that might settle it down. Put it down and it did a swan dive off the table all over everywhere.
The chickens can't help with this one. :(
Do you have drainage down your throat causing the coughing? There are pills you can take for that. Hugs.

I don't know, I don't think so, it's more like something sitting on my chest, pushing....
The doctor gave me pills, she said they'd stop the coughing, but they haven't. I took some cough mixture and another antihistamine which seems to have settled the latest bout. Nothing's really fixing it though. Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and it'll have all gone away...... :D

The stuff i take for that is guafenisin. Look for it in cough remedies. Works well.
