What are bantys good for?

Don't let anyone fool ya. They are all fluff and stuff and I think that everyone needs a little fluff and stuff in their life. The bonus is they pack a big punch of fun in a very little body.

I have to say that I had no plans for banties they just kind of found their way into the bator. But I am so glad I did as my son who is 16 really fell in love with them, he denies it but he did. Now he don't complain about the chicks at all. And they have been fun and relaxing to watch.

I know my comments have caused quite a comotion, now I do like my chickens, I do have some fun watching chicken tv with my wife and teenage daughter who rarely likes to spend time with the old folks. as I said I like my chickens and care well for them but I do not love them, loving them causes quite a mess come processing time with others in my family, we live in the country and things must stay practical lest caos will insue. how do you think I will feel when it's time to process my girls favorite cuddley hen that she names fluffy or something, just plain awful/terrible. thats why i do not condone this lovey dovey stuff. thanks for listening.

Love my family too much too hurt them

Does the first one have feathered feet? if so it looks like a brown/red cochin
The second one almost looks like a sultan or polish cross kinda with the hairdo but i am probably wrong

They both have feathered feet . The smaller one is just younger .

they lay big eggs ? I thought for their size , the eggs would be alot smaller . hmmm

At what age do they start to lay ?

I have 8 of these . and 40 stand size hens

I DO NOT mix them at all , since to me they are MUCH SMALLER

Mine started laying just over 4 months old but i think around 5 to 6 months altho the ee's take longer. My ee's didn't start laying until they were about 8 months old

The first one ( pic ) is a black star or black sex link, the key there is the neck hackles, I have a bunch of these and they look identical.
