My four-year-old and I collaborated on names. He couldn't get on board with my idea of Disney princesses, and I couldn't reconcile myself to his suggestions of "Tree" and "Worm." He liked "Snowball" rather than "Snow White," so we got the idea of going with a weather theme (one of his favorite subjects, currently) So we have:

Snowball (White Rock)
Stormie (Black Giant)
Wendy (Partridge Rock) and
Sunshine (Buff Orpington, yet to arrive)

We have lots of names for our chickens.

Legs (he has long legs)
Friend (a rr rooster that is super friendly)
Butterball (a large black cochin hen)
Boots (large black cochin roo)
Dove Girl (a banty dove looking hen)
Gabby (a hen that 'talks' all the time)

in the past we have had:

Kellogg (looked like the kellogg rooster)
boofy (a hen with poofy head feathers)
Big Daddy (a cool roo)
Junior (he looked like his daddy)

Looks like we only named our roosters

We had so many hens they weren't very different from each other.

Mine are as follows:
Mr. Meany - Cornish Cross
Bare Butt - Also a Cornish Cross, with very few feathers(my daughter named him)
Runty - A RIR pullet, we hope
Dottie - A Barred Rock pullet, we hope
Stripers - A Barred Rock little roo, we think
Henrietta - Another Barred Rock pullet, we hope
Gertrude - DITTO
Peaches - Not sure, maybe a RIR or New Hampshire
Nuggett - DITTO
Mr. Onrey - Not sure
and Last but not least, Chubby - not sure what this one is either. I went to our local Orschelns and bought our chicks, and not sure exactly what I got. I do recall that 4 of them were referred to as "Frying Pan Specials". I am hoping that the last two are the Arauncas, and females.

One last thing, I am new to chickens and this site, and absolutley LOVE IT!!!!! - My daughter calls me the crazy chicken lady:D

Well, tomorrow we should be getting our new additions that I ordered from Meyer Hatchery-
2 cuckoo marans- Cuckoo and Kiki
And a Rhode Island Red - my 3 yr old is naming her Dora
We are getting 4 others but don't have names for those yet...i will keep you updated.
