What are Lavender Orpington chicks supposed to look like?

They would develop in my nesting boxes too - even up here in the north we've been in the 90s for WEEKS :hit
If I get more eggs, it would be in the spring. Do you have a website? I have a vague memory of a website (that I used to stalk periodically to salivate over your orps), but maybe it was just the facebook page?
I have the hatching catalog posted here:

Ever since you continued this thread, I've become more interested in your Orpingtons.
Your catalog shows some gorgeous breeds. Hope to order from you with my next broody girl.

OMG you have red orpingtons!!!!!!!!!! Duuuude do you know how long I've been looking for reds?!? I was beginning to think there weren't any in the country! Okay so I've seen the facebook page, but that catalog... those colors... that fluff!! I'm the kid in the candy store! I wasn't going to add any more, but... You are making this so hard! Imma need to get me some reds next year :love Your prices are a lot lower than my cranky breeder's, too. Okay, I'll need to find a way to make this work (I want to use a broody, so my timing will be at her mercy, but I want to make this work... For the reds!!)

Oh, I have some nice reds. I just lost my male to this thrice-damned heat down here, but I'm trying to get another one from my friend that has some. I'm hoping they can come through. I also need a GL rooster because all I have are pullets, and some more Buff hens. But, it is what it is.

Yes, she breeds to black and warned me that I might get some black chicks from a lav/split pairing, but I didn't get any.
I don’t know a lot about the topic but the fact that you hatched 6 lavenders and no splits makes me think this is a lie. You should have gotten one at least which would make me wonder if she’s breeding splits at all.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear about your rooster. Summer is almost over... and the heat, hopefully...

Well, the eggs came from several different pens, so maybe some of the pairings were lav x lav, which would push the statistics towards more lavender chicks. But even if all of the pairings were split x lav, half of the chicks would appear black. I lost half of the eggs she gave me, because I experimented with a different broody (not my old trusty) and she f-ed up multiple times along the way, losing a lot of eggs in the process... So, statistically speaking, between the lost eggs, and just the randomness of which ones the breeder happened to grab for me, it could be possible that I got 6 lavender chicks even if all the pairings were split x lav. Just like genders are 50/50 generally speaking, yet I still got 5 males and 1 female - very skewed on a small scale. So I wouldn't jump to conclusions when the sample size is so small.
