Your prices are a lot lower than my cranky breeder's, too. Okay, I'll need to find a way to make this work (I want to use a broody, so my timing will be at her mercy, but I want to make this work... For the reds!!)
Oh, I have some nice reds. I just lost my male to this thrice-damned heat down here, but I'm trying to get another one from my friend that has some. I'm hoping they can come through. I don’t know a lot about the topic but the fact that you hatched 6 lavenders and no splits makes me think this is a lie. You should have gotten one at least which would make me wonder if she’s breeding splits at all.

Well, the eggs came from several different pens, so maybe some of the pairings were lav x lav, which would push the statistics towards more lavender chicks. But even if all of the pairings were split x lav, half of the chicks would appear black. I lost half of the eggs she gave me, because I experimented with a different broody (not my old trusty) and she f-ed up multiple times along the way, losing a lot of eggs in the process... So, statistically speaking, between the lost eggs, and just the randomness of which ones the breeder happened to grab for me, it could be possible that I got 6 lavender chicks even if all the pairings were split x lav. Just like genders are 50/50 generally speaking, yet I still got 5 males and 1 female - very skewed on a small scale. So I wouldn't jump to conclusions when the sample size is so small.
