What are my eggs telling me?

I can not see into my cochin eggs at all during incubation. It's a pain! Her eggs are light in colour, but must be thick, because I don't see anything. Four out of 5 hatched, so I don't remove them unless there is evidence of a blood ring/can see in and there is no growth by day 10.

My silkie eggs show evidence of veining by day 3 :)

I agree with wrestling mom......I switched from a regular flashlight to a led flashlight and it was like switching to HD tv! Huge difference and the darker the room the better. Good Luck...

Thanks for all the replies. Its good to see that its not so clean cut as what i have previously read.

So, on day 10 i had a look again in total darkness with an LED torch. I could establish that 6 eggs have large dark masses in them with an air bubble at the end and 6 allow loads of light through and i can see the yolk. So i can come to the conclusion that six are infertile.

Of the six that have dark masses, i really cannot see anything! If i look REALLY hard i can just about see a couple lines near the air bubble, but i wonder if i am seeing what i want to see haha.

So i think i am just going to have to keep all the eggs in there for the whole time. I cannot see anything, good or bad! So fingers crossed non will explode or anything!
