What are these white worms? Ewww...(Pic included)

No.. Even the segments on tapeworms move.. Like how a snake moves even after you chop if its head.

Yes you are all correct. I have seen these before and they are, indeed, tapeworm. Unfortunately there are very few treatments out there approved to treat them. There are also many misconceptions about Diatomaceous Earth. It only treats fleas, lice, and roundworm. It does not penetrate the larvae of some of the more serious types of parasites--while it is very beneficial for holding off a plethera of blood-sucking, aggrivating ones.

I use Fenbendazole, though I do not believe even this will treat tapeworm. Your very best bet would be to take Peter's recommendation at Tri-State. I would trust my flock to that man any day. He is a Godsend when dealing with this type of problem.

I would recommend treating your soil with Agricultural lime--especially if you have horses. Horses carry this parasite and rodents are the worse culprits for the spread of this parasite TO BIRDS. The most prevelant spreader of this type of tapeworm is your conventional, everyday flea.

Thank you for all of the very helpful advice and research! Based on your input and the pictures you all shared, I am convinced it is tapeworms. (Do the picture make anyone else lightheaded or is it just me? EWWWWW!)

The two that are most severly affected came from a horse ranch, so they could have gotten them from the horses. I will be adding DE to the feed in the future. I just purchased some Valbazan from a website recommended by dlunicorn that is supposed to be here in a couple of days. It is broad spectrum wormer, but specifically covers tapeworms, too.

Incidentally, I am treating my dogs and cat too just in case. My dogs eats anything! Ummm...yeah...YUCK!!

Once again, thank you ALL for helping me figure this out. I tried my local avian vet without success. Thank goodness we have the BYC community to count on to properly diagnose problems. :)

P.S.
