We live in a tropical country and it’s raining a lot lately. It was my first time seeing these insects swarming in our backyard. It looks like small beetles. I saw my hens pecking on some. Is it bad for them? If it’s bad, how can I get rid of it?

I’m not an expert in any way, but the beetles look kind of like those that eventually produce mealworms

If your chickens continue to eat them, they're good to eat.
My 3 years old hens know what's good to eat for awhile now, even my nearly 1 year pullets know a lot of bugs are nasty. One bug that comes to mind are a green beetle. They see it and ignore. However a juicy ant will be pounced on as well as crickets.
My Barred Rocks will follow me around this time of year because I have thousands of tiny crickets in my lawn and they jump up when I walk and the chickens devour them. STC_0006 (2019-08-10T15_22_25.334).jpg . GC

Beatles should be fine for the hens to eat. I would not worry about them.

Looks like tasty snacks... you should try some! ;) :sick

Oh well, hakunamatata I did a little research and it can be carpet beetle or mealworms. Thanks everyone for your response.
