What are y'all cookin for dinner tonight??? LOOK RECIPE ADDED!!!!

Last nite was way too hot to cook--105! Even too hot to get out to the store and buy food. So we used up the eggs and made eggsellent French Toast! Poor girls aren't laying much in this heat. Luckily we own a pizzeria, so I'll make a pizza when I pick up my daughter-- she's trying to make some money today, because come Monday it's a full week of school

Well, it was just pasta last night, with a cup of water. I usually have a decent dinner 2 days on, 1 day off. One day I'll have rice, chicken, and vegetables, the next day I'll eat leftovers, and the subsequent day I'll be lazy and eat something easy to fix.

*treads carefully*

And if one spouse works and the other doesn't, the one at home should have a meal ready when the working spouse gets home. I'm not sure it should be in front of the TV and all on a tray

I mean, why should someone come home from a day's work to get in the kitchen and start making dinner?

Now if both work, then you have to enter some kind of rotation, or else some kind of tag team action in the kitchen.

*walks normally*

Man, I've got to give my parents some respect. It just now crossed my mind that they spent very little time on themselves, and a lot of time on the kids... Well, I guess that is how most families are like with kids. Shew. No kids till later! I like the fact that if I don't make dinner, the only person hungry is ME!

My wife owns her own catering busuisness so I am not allowed in the kitchen. However we do barbque at least 3 times a week all year long and thats my domain. Nothing like barbued prime rib of beef on christmas evening...yum yum

That is how we work it. Whoever gets home first starts dinner and then we finish it together.
And who ever is off that day get to make his or her choice of meals.
I like that my hubby is a teacher. I don't cook in the summer and for Christmas and Spring breaks. hehehehe

It takes training though. The first few times I got home from work at 8 pm and ther was no dinner started, I asked "what's for dinner?" The reply was "Oh, what do you want?" So I would make myself a sandwich and go watch TV. It didn't take long to reach a compromise.
