what are y'all saving from the wild to deal with coming crisis?

You can definitely dehydrate zucchini. My sister-in-law used to do it with other veggies then store them as a mixture with seasoning for an instant soup mix.

can you please ask your sister in law how to dry veggies? as I am going off grid and I plan to do that.

going off grid is a part dealing with crisis. with money I pay electricity bill for 1 year I will buy a photovoltaic system. here in greece they burden the el. bill with a load of taxes we don't know what they are. if you don't have electricity you don't pay those taxes.

This times 1000! The climate has been and always will be changing. It has since the beginning of time. The UN and New World Order Elitist use "climate change" to scare the sheeple into voluntarily paying them (taxes, carbon credits, etc) They get richer while we tax slaves just barely get by. The Socialist/Communist UN want to live like Kings and control us Slaves thru fear of something no one can control. The Sun is the primary reason for All Climate Change.
Pollution is a whole other story. Should our countries be potting out the pollution we do? Hell No!
But if they blamed climate change on pollution and tried to end it, it would crash the world's economy. So they blame it on the CO2 Boogeyman that no one can do a thing about and is absolutely nessasary for life on Earth. The Marxist/Commies have infiltrated nearly all schools and have our children brainwashed overthis trash science. Most Scientist Do Not Agree with the IPCC that is made up of a handful of scientist on the take. But since they control the Media, they make it seem like this handful is the only scientist when the ICC is less than 1/100 of 1% of all scientist on Earth. I could go on for days but I am already pissed enough after reading this Propaganda.
I'm outta here!
:he

plants are feeding on CO2. I will plant a lot of trees in my new place where I will move soon.

unfortunately climate weapons do exist and we all pay taxes to support them.

AMEN!! Thank You!
Also, there are programs that "pay farmers not to farm" that is true. But research why. Dust bowl anyone? There are valid reasons for certain programs. Each has very strict guidelines. And NO, I am not in any of them. I do however have a good grasp on modern farming and agriculture.

here in greece years ago people were promised to earn a lot of money by growing kiwis. the result is they destroyed soil. kiwi needs rich soil so they keep spending loads of money for fertilizers and after years soil became dead. soil in greece is good for olives and figs, not for many other trees.

Poisonous plants for horses:
https://equusmagazine.com/management/10-most-poisonous-plants-for-horses-8208

I for one have Loco weed on my property.... IF I were to create a forage or turn out area amongst the Chaparal I would have to search out every plant and dig it up.... Then wait to see if any grow back from the seeds. Most horses wont eat it on purpose... So If you have one or two plants you havent seen You are ok. Same goes for goats and sheep... But I will be dilligent if I find enough money to fence and cross fence....

I can’t ask her as she has passed away. I do know she used an electric dehydrator. They use very little power to dry veggies. Maybe you could look into something that will work with your system.

Certain species of aquatic plants can be fed as forage.

Duck weed is very high in protien and multiplies like crazy... it can even used for human consumption.

Water hyacinth is a very good water filter... Good for clearing up grey water... it can be harvested and fed as forage.... Provided you dont have heavy metals in your grey water. Good soaps and stuff. It also can be compressed into bricks and used for fuel.
I plan to use Water Hyacinth in my Aquaponics system. it can also be used to make paper...

dont know if cattails are good for horses but they are good for people
Cattails Edible parts: The lower parts of the leaves can be used in a salad; the young stems can be eaten raw or boiled; the young flowers (cattails) can be roasted. Yellow pollen (appears mid-summer) of the cattail can be added to pancakes for added nutrients.

finally in my Desert I will reiterate .... There is lots of forage for both humans and livestock.
Yucca The seed pods are about the size of a KiWi When picked green they can be roasted for a Squash like flavor.... The roots can be cooked like potato...

Agave The root stock is very loaded with sugar thats why they make Tequila from it.

I am in a small nub of the sonoran desert.

IN `Greece the climate should be good for air drying.... just use a couple of screens with frames.... one to hold the veggies and one to keep the flies off.... put it in a warm place with a slight breeze.

A dehydrator would be optimal though.... lots of recipes and how tos in the dehydrator book.

I used to make Jerkey in the oven. season strips of beef and stretch them out on the rack... Set the oven at 120 or the lowest it can go and leave it on over night.

I cut the meat with the muscle so it goes the full length and the strips at least an eighth of an inch thick.

Lean meat like flank steak is perfect for this....

In Hawaii, chickens run loose and wild. They are eating something. I think chickens are super adaptable, if they free range, it will cost you less to feed. Although Ive been hearing of some folks raising crickets and making them into meal, even for human consumption :sick But for birds, it would be a great source of protein.
