what are y'all saving from the wild to deal with coming crisis?

And I heard of a guy who was bit by a horsefly, so we should spray all bugs. Anecdotes are not good reasoning. A college degree does not guarantee anything, natch, as character, ability, and ambition vary from person to person. But the overall data since the GI Bill after world war II has been very solid: it pays us all off if we can get high school and college diplomas into the hands of deserving students. Do we need to do better in the US to get better jobs to more people? Yes. And having more degrees is a proven way to start that.
My grandson's life is not an "Anecdote"

Well, actually, the cattle industry in california is a huge methane producer. Methane is eight times worse than carbon dioxide as a global warming problem.

No, it's not. It absorbs more IR, but it's concentration is miniscule in comparison to CO2 (CO2 is only 0.04% of the atmosphere; basically 4 molecules per 10,000 molecules of air; methane is less than 2 molecules per 1,000,000 molecules of air), and it doesn't last long.

Pollution.
Just 3 states are passing a ban on one time plastics.
Do you have a cup and a washable straw that you use?
Do you bring your own bags to the grocery store?
Just two simple examples of a minor change that would have a profound impact.

We were given this Earth and have done poorly.
If this situation frustrates or even inspires you ... do something. Fill a need.
It’s all about changing mentality. Changes through education.
IMHO what will bring mankind together will be our will to survive.
What we need is the ability to preserve & protect and have this woven into our fabric as a society.
It’s a helpless feeling at times when you look at the big picture.
So ... gotta start somewhere.
Do something today.
No matter how small.
Encourage others to do the same.
Walk the walk.
Pray

This is exactly why we have decided to homestead. Not because of climate change, as that has been occurring, IMO and according to science and history, since the beginning of the earth, from the separation of Pangea to the beginning and maybe not complete ending of the Ice Age to known polar shifts. I do concern myself with scientist revealing a concern with global governments creating a world war over their mastery of altering regional weather patterns and how their efforts may alter weather patterns in other areas of the globe in a negative way. But our reason for homesteading is to be proliferate while our news refuses to inform us of the global food shortages. It amazes me that so many governments are paying farmers NOT to farm their land. It is almost like they want people standing in line begging them to feed and care for them.
You know that song by Hank Williams Jr “A Country Boy Can Survive” We know how to can, store and jerky and I don’t know about everyone else but I believe in God and him taking care of things.

The town I live in that has recently banned plastic bags in stores. I found out when I went to Walmart and they were using paper bags. Me personally, I started using reusable bags nearly 20 years ago. We also have single stream curbside recycling. If I purchased a grocery item that comes in a can or glass jar I usually save it and re-purpose it. I try to hold onto cardboard because it is very useful in the garden. I see so many people who absolutely don't know how to cook for themselves and would likely starve when all the restaurants closed. Little things like you mentioned @MissChick@dee mean a lot.
